Weekend Estimates: The Purge 28.3M | Apes 36M | Sex Tape 15M | Planes 18M | Godzilla 470k +91% 198.9m!!! | More Numbers on Page 1

Probably about $9M.

It's previews/rest of Friday split was 3.4 + 9.6

I don't think it will stay flat from non-preview Friday. I expect some more front-loading.

EDIT: Facepalm

Same thing happen with college. Everybody thought they would have more free time after they graduated. But they were wrong.

I dont think it's possible to have more free time than during college. I mean, I have 10 months free time a year, when I can do whatever I want, and 2 awful exam months, when I'm remembered that I am in college.

I'm still quite surprised that The Purge was able to maintain its audience despite the previous movie's awful reception. Did the change in scenario really do wonders for it?

That, as well as the movie actually being better. I haven't seen it yet, but the consensus on twitter as well as other movie review websites, even the ones which gave it a rotten rating, has been "It is a major improvement over the first movie". Word of mouth may not totally bury this movie like it did the first one.

What if Cumberbatch played Diaz's role? Would the film have been better-received? Your thoughts?

He would've brought some real gravitas to the proceedings, that's for sure

I'm all for people losing weight but Jason Segel just looks ill in Sex Tape. Like he's had a horrible disease that's been eating him away or something.

his character has aids. it's a commentary about the safe sex laws for porn in california.
