I really think Tammy is benefitting from an almost complete dearth of movies aimed at older women this summer, as well as older audiences in general. All the more reason I believe Get on Up will make a killing if everything goes right.

It may have to compete with Hundred Foot Journey though for the old lady crowd.

I think Get On Up can do really well. A 30-35M OW (maybe as high as 40M if all goes well) and a leggy run to 100M. All is contingent on the movie being good of course.

The streak continues. 4th of July was the worst weekend since 1999, last weekend was the worst since 2009, and this is the worst since 2005 (top 12) and 2006 (overall)

Get the feeling tracking is overblowing Lucy and Apes 2 will win next weekend.

The appeal of Lucy baffles me. I love ScarJo but the concept is about as faux high brow as it can get.

So I just logged on to BOM and looked at all of the weekend numbers, and the one that actually surprised me the most was Transformers. I really didn't think that one would hit $10M. It still has a shot at 250 after all.
