Kalel009Shel
No bigger in the US, Spiderman has been doing 400mill+ international numbers since the early 2000's Superman especially is way less popular outside the US than Batman and Spidey and batman needed to rebuild after killing the franchise in the 90's. Like I said, Huge domestic, and I'm not saying it will do poor numbers internationally but it's not doing 7-800mill +++ like your talking about Well BO predictors say differet.. Pieman and since Supes came off Two flops and beat the SM reboot domestically and if not for competition would have made Spiderman numbers or Batman Nolan film numbers WW.. Seems your not being honest with the films potential. Last two batman movies have grossed avenger like moolah without the 3D help like marvel films use(including Avengers).. So combining the two, you dont need to be a math scientist to see this is bigger than Avengers. Edited August 9, 2014 by Superman001

Kalel009Shel
Wonder if TE3 will benefit from the "boom" but then it's not really a boom, more like two very well marketed movies and one that seemingly tapped into its fanbase and nostalgia pretty well. The TMNT in 2007 was shit and I've never seen any other TMNT movie. Kinda sad that people would turn up to TMNT and not Dragon 2. Don't know what the difference is (referring to kids not the nostalgia crowd). Maybe Megan Fox? lol Well TMNT has the power of the ages and rem it is a 10+B dollar franchise, so thats alot of people you can win back to the fold. Dragon doesnt have that, buts its building a nice franchise following non the less. Also Dragon was great , but I dont think it was properly promoted.. So I think the ad campaign has to be reworked. James
My child arrived just the other day He came to the world in the usual way But there were planes to catch and bills to pay He learned to watch movies while I was away And he was talkin' 'fore I knew it, and as he grew He'd say "I'm gonna be like you, Dad You know I'm gonna be like you" And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man on the moon When you comin' home, Dad I don't know when, but we'll get together then You know we'll have a good time then My son turned ten just the other day He said, "Thanks for the ball, Dad, come on let's go watch the Michael Bay Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", I said "Not today I got a lot to do", he said, "That's ok And he walked away but his smile never dimmed And said, "I'm gonna be like him, yeah You know I'm gonna be like him" And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man on the moon When you comin' home, Dad I don't know when, but we'll get together then You know we'll have a good time then Well, he came from college just the other day So much like a man I just had to say "Son, I'm proud of you, can you watch Star Wars: A New Hope?" He shook his head and said with a smile "What I'd really like, Dad, is to watch the live-action Pokemon movie See you later, can I have money for the tickets?" And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man on the moon When you comin' home son I don't know when, but we'll get together then, Dad You know we'll have a good time then I've long since retired, my son's moved away I called him up just the other day I said, "I'd like to see Lawrence of Arabia with you" He said, "I'd love to, Dad, if I can find the time You see Transformers is on and the kids are sick of Where the Wild Things Are But it's sure nice talking to you, Dad It's been sure nice talking to you" And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me He'd grown up just like me My boy was just like me And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man in the moon When you comin' home son I don't know when, but we'll get together then, Dad We're gonna have a good time then Tele and Tele Jr. This is actually hilarious: http://vimeo.com/99194692 Edited August 9, 2014 by James

Great for Turtles, amazing hold for Guardians against big direct opener. New openers should combine for around 90m Edited August 9, 2014 by eXtacy

Jessie
To be fair, I was one of those hoping for Guardians to have a sub 50% drop but living in the UK where I rarely here anyone tall Ninja Turtles I never expected it to make half as much as it's doing. Good hold all things considered. So far lego movie and GOTG will have the best 2nd weekend of the year. Both starring Chris pratt lol.
kaijukurt
Great numbers for the Turtles! Awesome to have another 50+ opener for 2014.With this and Guardians, late July/August is looking to be the purest fun I'll have at the movies this year.

Quigley
Anythign above the $41.3M that Cap 2 made on its 2nd wknd is perfect for Guardians. As for the $60M that TMNT will make, well, Michael Bay, I just despise you even more.
Blackout
So which numbers should we look at, deadline or Nikki's? Nikki's have been constantly 2-3 million higher than deadline's at every point so far.
