I had no idea they ever had that; I've had several situations where I've wanted to be able to set up my own showdowns.

That tool was the best. After the forums disappeared, they still had the feature, but u could only see ones they made and u couldn't make your own. I made a lot of showdows there.

I know man. I loved using the adjusting tool.

The adjusting tool was quite useful and helpful when it came to discovering which movies sold more tickets. It was also fascinating to look at.

Now it's gone. For shame Amazon, for shame.

Damn. While they did screw us over with the forums, they were still an invaluable source of information, especially after the screwover with their free Pro data. Pretty much every single argument ever on this website relied on BOM's data. This could be really bad news for our community.

Maybe ERC can pick up the slack?

The New York Times now has an article on this (although it doesn't tell us anything new). I think this is becoming a pretty huge deal.

Welp, that makes me think there is a great chance now that BOM is really going away. FUCK!!!!

I'm thinking that if the worst predictions come true, this could possibly trigger a substantial backlash in Hollywood.

I'm thinking about what kind of backlash this could cause against Amazon. They might be losing a lot of customers out of protest over this whole ordeal.

There is still a website that offers many box office data as BOM, but it is not easy to find your way around as BOM. Check it out. The-numbers.com

Yeah, I've visited them before. The main advantage they had was tracking DVD sales and a record of the largest budgets. But they don't have international numbers, they don't have the quick sorting tools BOM had, and they don't keep track of release date changes.

But I guess they're the best we've got now. *Sigh*
