This again proves we are in the age of superheroes. Even Nolan can not win against Marvel/superhero flicks.

 

CBM rules. In Marvel we trust.

 

Cant wait for countless big budget superhero films in next 50-plus years.

 

Well, it's not necessarily bad, I mean BH6 has a much better RT average than Interstellar (89% vs 73%) so in some way the best movie winning the fight is something fair.

Something to consider:

 

Interstellar is Nolan's least-widest theatrical release since Insomnia. The Batman trilogy and Inception all had higher theater counts than Interstellar. If Interstellar achieves great word of mouth, then this will be good for drops, because the drops will end up being softer, since a lower theater count will increase the chances of sellouts and audience spillover. Also what's fascinating is Interstellar's theater count is fairly close to what Avatar's theater count was.
