Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation grossed $9.4 million (-39%) from 64 overseas territories this frame, bringing the international cume to $328.7 million and the worldwide total to$511.187 million. Top holdovers include France ($1.4M/$18.4M cume), Japan ($1.3M/$36.1M cume), Germany ($980K/$12.4M cume), UK/Ireland ($820K/$31.2M cume), and Brazil ($700K/$8.8M cume). 

 

Rogue Nation opens in its final territory China on Tuesday. The film had its premiere in Shanghai on Saturday with Tom Cruise, co-star Rebecca Ferguson and director Christopher McQuarrie in attendance. Cruise also met with Alibaba CEO Jack Ma whose Alibaba Pictures co-financed Rogue Nation. The film should be on the same level as this summer’s blockbusters Avengers: Age of Ultron and Jurassic World and early predictions are saying $200M+ is possible.

Rogue Nation made over $150M in its first weekend of global release in late July. Internationally, it has grossed franchise-breaking numbers in Brazil, Mexico, Malaysia, Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela, India, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, Sweden, Turkey, Indonesia, Poland and Hong Kong.

My guess (very conservative) is 80+ from China between Tue and Sunday, another 10+ from other OS markets, and domestic about 188m total by this coming sunday.  Total on Sept 13 should be well over 600m, probably over 620m.

 

After that:

Sept 20 - 660-680

Sept 27 - 680-710

Oct 4 - 690-725

Do chinese audience prefer to see more good quality-driven, smart & intellectual blockbusters? ^_^ ...or the stupid shit? :blink:

They prefer more action with less complicated plot..obviously something like MI4 or Fast & Furious.

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation grabbed back the international box office crown from fellow Paramount pic Terminator: Genisys with $50.5 million this weekend from 63 total territories. China earned an impressive $45.2 million from Friday to Sunday and has $86.3 million since opening on Tuesday. Rogue Nation’s 6-day opening was 17% below Jurassic World’s and 134% above MI4’s. Among holdovers, France dropped 48% for $860K and $19.6 million after 5 weekends, Japan earned $740K for a $38.2 million cume, Germany grossed $460K to bring its total to $13.0M, and the UK/Ireland added $450K lifting its cume to $31.9 million. Rogue Nation has earned $424.8 million overseas and $613 millionworldwide.
