What's righteous about it?  Let's see you make something and watch as millions of people enjoy it for free.  I'm 100% positive you wouldn't think the same way.

Agreed if people steal music, movies, and TV shows. Why not just break into a store an when neighbor is gone steal there belongings.

American football is the biggest joke known to mankind right next to baumer's taste in movies.

Soccer is INFINITELY more popular and rightfully so. I just can't feel any momentum from football. It all begins and ends way too fast.

Not to mention that US Football actually causes brain damage. Lol

Soccer is the most boring ass sport there is.  Oh, lets watch people endlessly kick a ball back and forth across a field and hope it goes into one of the goals.

American football is modern day gladiator fights, soccer maybe watched more globally but Americans and our elitist attitude like usual say fuck you world, our game is bigger & better. AMERICAN football.

UFC is the modern day gladiator fights(at least in the 90s before there were any rules).  UFC is the only sport I really watch anymore, but Football is at least watchable unlike that remarkably silly soccer stuff.

It is still not illegal here, so even on a technical level I'm not doing something wrong

This SB weekend thing is really piquing my interest for next week and how AS does.   I wonder if it might do something crazy and increase?    ;)

-------------------------------

Funny thread to read today.

The overall vibe seems to be that the NFL is inferior because it isn't as popular as World Cup....but that Bieber, Perry, and Swift are inferior despite their popularity.   O...kay...no conflicting logic there!    :D

I give Perry and Swift credit.    Good performers and they write catchy songs.   That new Taylor Swift song "Shake it Off" got the whole club dancing last night at my band's gig.

Don't know nothing about American Football, but there seems to be an awful lot of downtime. Play 20 seconds, stop, drink some water, have a cup of coffee. Play 20 seconds, stop, huddle. Play, stop, a Katy Perry show, and so on...

If you think that's bad....never ever ever watch baseball or golf.

I think soccer is far more satisfying to watch, it's a lot more skillfully whereas American football seems to be just a rugby rip off yet the players act a lot tougher yet where a shit load of padding for protection lol. Rugby is the real man sport.

I don't think a lot of people realize how huge NFL players are.   It's the #1 comment every year when they play an NFL game in London.   The players go out to eat at restaurants and Brits are shocked at the massive size of the players.

Players wear padding in various sports because they have to.    Padding is not an indication of weakness.    Players don't wear padding in golf or tennis either.

It's funny how the man who killed 150+ people is praised as hero and given a day after he died, while the man who saved 150 million+ people was criminalized and committed suicide due to how horrid his treatment was because of his sexuality. (Ironically both have Oscar nominated movies this year too.)

The world we live in is messed up.

I agree it's sad that we celebrate military heroes.    It's a flaw in our species that goes back to the beginning of recorded history.

But did you see what you did here?

Military hero #1-Mention the lives he took but do not mention the lives he saved

Military hero #2-Mention the lives he saved but do not mention the lives he took

That's how it works.   All "heroes" are only heroes to one side.  You think the Germans who died because of Alan Turing might not be so quick to sing his praises?   Conversely, I actually know someone personally who praises Kyle for saving his life.

prince-guitar-penis-super-bowl-halftime-

Nuff said.

God...damn...right.

I think Prince is the greatest, most charismatic live performer since Elvis.    Prince>>>>MJ  (MJ has him on songs)

I've been to Iceland and flown over Greenland. All the parts of Greenland I saw, were pure ice. In Summer with white nights (bright day light at midnight) most of the island was green. But as far as I know those land were named by the explorers who first visited them (during recorded history that is) and they called, what struck them most.

I believe Greenland was named during a time when it was warmer than today.   (Sorry Al Gore)   They actually find remains of villages.

If+you+actually+read+it+it+says+the+fit+

If a female star uses her sexuality and good looks to gain popularity it is seen as female empowerment.

If that is pointed out by a male it becomes misogyny?

Just chill out everyone...

Could you have made this point without Homer Simpson?

There is not as much fighting as it use to be. There is argument that fight makes the game safer.

Funny thing though, the two most horrifying moments in recent Hockey happened during a regular match, and no fighting involved.

Warning, not for the faint of heart.

I kinda get soccer.    During a visit to Germany a few years ago, I was caught up in it during some big European tournament.   The whole country shut down for it basically.   The team lost and the coach actually went on TV the next day to resign!

It really helped that I had someone to root for....I think that's the key to any sport.    I even got totally caught up in this little soccer match with a friend's daughter....it went to overtime with free kicks and stuff and my heart was pounding.   Felt so sorry for the kids that lost though.   The poor goalie on the losing team was crying.  :(

If I watched fighting (and I don't)...I agree UFC would be my choice.   Seems much more like real fighting than boxing.

Eh, after thinking about it for a few weeks, I understand why. The movie is forgettable. And I hate saying that, because I wanted to like it, but, in the end, the Hobbit movies truly didn't live up the awesomeness of LOTR.

This is very true. My company works with a particular school that happen to have lots of European students. When we first get aquainted, eventually the talk goes to the NFL players and why they wear the padding and whatnot, and well, when the owner of the company just happens to live next door to an NFL legend that likes to have NFL bashes, it's a given we will take the newbies to meet the NFL players, and they are shocked. Then, get some of them to put on a uniform and give it a go with a few games, then they fully understand the padding. I don't know why the Europeans that are on this forum feel it neccessary to knock on America, when in real life, the students and customers coming over here from across the pond actually get along and there is mutual respect all around.

Not often. I find Noctis is the main culprit in trying to start shit. Downright flamebaiting and trolling sometimes.

Plus fight avoids cheap shots like tripping a player with your knee or slashing some in the face with a stick.

Go buy yourself a tampon, sweetheart. Saying US Football is a joke is a knock against America?

God damn, grow some thicker skin. And stop obsessing over me.

Your definition of recent must be different than Webster's.  That Malarchuk incident was in the 80's.

There's Noctis, being edgy...again.

There's Noctis talking shit about me...again.

Thank you for trying to teach me about humility Noctis.  Please don't give up on me sir.  I'll make you proud one day.
