Of course but surely Dakota and Jamie have big salary increases? Some of the behind the scenes crew are fairly high profile too.

 

Plus based on what I've read of the plot this one involves car chases and helicopter crashes (lol).

I don't think they'll have really big salaries. Define big? I mean, I don't see it going much further than $1m for each, do you?

Apparently they were pushing for 7 figure salaries each but the producers were having none of it.

 

I dunno. I just don't see how it's even possible to cost half as much as the first? I know they'll have saved a lot with back-to-back shooting and these movies are essentially 85% talking and 15% sex, but still.

Well, if the whole structure is already there I suppose it's possible to save some money, but you're right that it does seem weird to make this one for half of the first after the financial success of the first. Let's see if we get some more news about it in the future.

Jamie and Dakota were only paid a modest $250,000 to star in the first Grey.

Now, they will receive $1.5M each other.
So yeah...$20M+(the budget for this movie) should be true.

i can see their salaries not skyrocketing, but only cause they probably signed for multiple movies.  But still.

Salary increases - not a lot but supposedly $2.5m is a lot when you're talking a $20m budget and they're filming in France as well as just Vancouver.  So, yeah hard to believe even if with both sequels filming at the same time.

They filmed part of it in France, though (honestly, I had no idea until the statement from the studio that the cast/crew were safe after the terror attack in Nice). If they are filming on multiple continents and gave the leads raises, I really doubt it costs half as much as the first one. Unless they are skimping on the soundtrack this time around...

That would be very silly. They got two monster hits and tons of award nominations last time. I'd imagine most artists would love to get a song on the soundtrack for this.
