In other words, this movie is about absolutely fucking nothing! NOTHING! If you saw the first film, you saw it all. This nothing but an 118-minute cringe fest from beginning to end that is some way somehow significantly worse than its predecessor. Fifty Shades Darker is the equivalent of seeing an incompatible couple getting back together after a week only for their relationship to go back to stage one.

No, it's just Anastasia Steele's narration that was cut from the movies lol. Which also included the cutting of everyone's favorite character from the story, Anastasia's Inner Goddess.

Dat cliffhanger : !

 

Dakota was as good as the first one to me, didn't feel a jarring diffrence on that front with the first one.

 

The sex stuff is as prudish  as the first one.

 

The story, what story ?

The first movie opened with $au2.5m, the same drop would translate to an OD of $16.6m in USA, for a weekend between: $40m-$48m.

I assume Universal is going to put out a new Mummy trailer before Great Wall, but could someone tell me why Universal wouldn't put out a new Mummy trailer this week so that they'd be able to play it before Shades AND Wall?

Because why would they market their Mummy film(an action-adventure) in front of an erotic romance film? Not the target audience, which is mainly females. This why you'll probably see a few of these trailers in front of Fifty Shades: Beauty & the Beast, Before I fall, Unforgettable, The Circle, Snatched, Girls Trip, Baywatch etc..

Wednesday previews - AUD1.58m

Thursday OD - AUD1.36m

 

I'm thinking the weekend will be around AUD5m which will give AUD6.5m at most by Sunday.

 

The first one performed much better in Australia relative to Domestic.  At this stage I'm thinking I'll give the first one an adjusted 3 day of USD88m so a drop of 50-60% puts it at USD35.2-44m.  

 

Let's call and OW of $39.7m.
