Avatree
As requested. I can think of more great performances in bad movies than bad performances in great movies. Let's make a thread for that.

Webslinger
I don't know that I would exactly call Troy a *bad* film, but Eric Bana rose far above the rest of the cast and the material at hand and delivered one of the most stirring supporting performances of that year.

Spidey Freak
Arnie in Batman & Robin I'll raise you an Uma Thurman in Batman & Robin to that. She was the only one who at least seemed to be having fun.
TServo2049
I never thought about those being great performances, but now I think I see what you mean. Arnold and Uma seem to have absolutely "gotten it" that they were essentially playing camp villains straight out of the Adam West TV show, so they absolutely nailed the material they were given. (I think Arnold's weakest scenes were the ones where he was supposed to be playing Freeze as a tragic figure like in the animated series.) Jake Gittes
I definitely agree about Thurman, and hell, Clooney was a perfectly good choice for the campy Adam West Batman. It's the writing and directing that fucked everything up.
