Great O/S #s for BH6 and 50S. 

 

Disney though has to be a bit disappointed with Into The Woods.  It's budget was low ($50m) and did better than Annie ($135m ww) but will finish with less than half of Les Miz which is much darker.  Then again Les Miz is far more world famous and Sondheim isn't for everyone and it's doing better than Sweeny Todd.

I wonder if studios might be put off adapting other Sondheim shows. Follies is in development but would be a hard sell without big names

Sweeney Todd was a hard R and borderline horror movie so it's not really comparable.

 

True but ST starred the then biggest star in the world and it's a famous musical.  But it looks like ITW won't do as well O/S even with a non R, inflation and expanded markets on it's side.
