WEEKEND ESTIMATES: Home 54m , GH 34.6m, Insurgent 22.1m, Cind 17.5m (official)

Recommended Posts

CA2 opened with 95M in 3D. F7 will open with 120M in 2D only. It is the type of opening that destroys the market.

Considering how dead everything other than F7 already is, it won't destroy the market.

Furious 7 makes $120-130 million. Cinderella + Insurgent + Home + Get Hard=$75-85 million.

It's Easter weekend, so most everything should hold decent in the wake of a big new opener.

I imagine the month of April will give most everything stronger legs than normal.

That title belongs to only Avengers 2 and Star Wars Episode VII.

Maleficent hit HTTYD2 hard whereas Cinderella basically fell off a cliff after its opening weekend if I had to guess

Cinderella has been doing the same as Maleficent on weekends.

Huh? The numbers for Cindy and Maleficent are pretty similar. This is Cindy's 2nd weekend, Dragon 2 was Maleficent's 3rd weekend.

No, this is Cindy's 3rd vweekend. Insurgent opened on Cindy's second weekend.

True, but it's weekday difference is widening the gab between them. To go from barely $2M difference from their opening weekend, to almost $13M difference 3 weeks later is not good for Cinderella.

While this will cause some sighs of relief at DWA, they're not out of the woods yet. Below 50% on RT is nothing to be proud of when the competition is consistently producing 80%+ mega hits. They need more consistency in terms of quality in order to be able to compete in this crowded field.

Still, good for Dreamworks, finally a hit.
