Like IM,IM2,Thor 1 and 2,GotG,TASM 1 and 2,CA,CA:WS,Ant Man,MoS,BB,IH...

Those don't have 3 big superhero icons, and none of them cost $250M to made.

Don't worry civil war will more than make up for the "failure" of AOU . BvS , on the other hand, is a flop in everything, bo, critics reviews, GA reaction (hence the horrible legs) e.t.c .

Who?

And you talking about fanboys...

By the way if you mean I am a fan boy, I am not. The first SH movie that I liked is Batman Begins, I watched The Dark knight more than a dozen times, and he is by far my favorite SH movie. It is true I am now attracted to the MCU. But I just want to enjoy good movies. I was really amazed by Deadpool and Daysoffuturepast even they are not a MCU movies. My point is that BvS, have a huge opportunity to be the biggest SH movie of all time and he just screwed that up HUGELY.

BvS did decent when taken out of context.

When comparing to the last Batman movie, the foreign results are objectivelly a poor results.

With inflation, 3D and markets expansion, you usually at least match or nearly match the last movie foreign gross with the same character, even rebooted.

TASM for example, did $550M on the foreign soil, which is basicly what Spiderman3 did.  So if not with admission, at least in terms of global gross, it didn't lose that much on the foreign soil right after Spiderman3, exploiting the 3D and inflation price to do so.

This is the exact same situation, a new actor playing a beloved character in a rebooted movie that added 3D and some years of inflation and extended markets that compensate the lower exchange rate.

In that situation you have TDKR that did $644M on the foreign market in 2012 and will have Bat V Supes that will end up with probably $100M less in a market that usually guarantee at least the same level of revenues as some markets expand more to compensate the lower revenues elsewhere.

It's not dramatic but it's clearly show that the non Nolan Batman hasn' retained as much as it should have from the popularity Nolan's Batman had abroad, which is traditionally the market that is usually the lesser impacted by decrease because of the expansion of some.

Even MOS foreign take did outgross Superman Returns foreign one.

A situation where the foreign market doesn't render at least as much or in the vicinity of the previous movie, even with a new actor playing the lead,  is a troubling situation as those tentpoles more and more lean on the foreign markets revenues to make up for the natural decline in the domestic one.

That's why plenty of tentpoles like Pirates and Transformers are still on.  They keep on increasing on the foreign soil thanks to expanding markets that compensate the poor exchange rates and the decline observed in the western markets, domestic one included.

The fact that DC fans are comparing Batman AND Superman with Iron Man, Thor, GotG, Ant Man and Captain America shows how "low" they have to go to make a rational (and favorable) comparison.

No, the context is BvS having poor word of mouth and bad bad reviews, in that context, it's doing fine. Now, if it had great reviews and great WOM, it would be poor.

No, the movie receiving bad reviews/WOM is not an excuse for these numbers, from the 24 movies that made $1B WW, 7 movies received bad/terrible reviews, a movie that has the two biggest heroes of planet should easily be surpassing this mark as well, the performance of this movie is a shame, the bad reviews and WOM is just a bonus.

The Media has been much more agressive with BvS than with any of those movies.

The $1b +  movies with reviews with critical reaction near as bad as BvS are the the couple of Transformers movies and the last Pirates. Other "rotten" movies had more mixed reception int the high 40s and 50s on RT. Both the Transformers and Pirates have found poor critical reception eventually greatly diminish their domestic box office. Both had very much loved first films and both series are more light hearted with lots of big action set pieces.    Even those with "mixed" reviews had the leg up of being sequels to extremely popular franchises (Minions and Menace) and Alice benefited off of Depp's then huge popularity and the 3D craze.

Interestingly, every film in the top 10 is 75%+ on RT.  And 16 of the 24 as well.
