Jurassic World Weekend Thread | Official Est. 204.6M | 208.8M - Actuals

That's the main thing - give the audience something to latch on to while leaving the movie. Endings are way more important than the first 2 acts. Does Furious 7 get the huge WOM without that ending? I doubt it.

Except didn't Furious 7 have kinda rubbish legs (domestic)? I don't expect that from JP4. It's a real crowd pleaser and I think 600 is very possible. TA1 total is the target.

There must have been significant spillover  for other movies, the drops on some of the holdovers actually look pretty good.

Spy only dropped 45% even with losing 536 screens, PP2 dropped a mere 20.8% while losing 726 screens.

Insidious was the only real big crash in the top 10, even SA with -57% isn't too bad considering the behemoth opening of JW

Spy didn't lose any screens, it can't before two weeks is up.

it s just out of this world the box office i mean the movie is very good but i don't get it lol it s like avatar the WOM is crazy as fuck or it s something new?

Nostalgia?  why buy why JP 3d 2013 did only 40m+ and not 100+ ...

Except didn't Furious 7 have kinda rubbish legs (domestic)? I don't expect that from JP4. It's a real crowd pleaser and I think 600 is very possible. TA1 total is the target.

Furious 7 had great legs. It's lowest pre-AOU weekend was 17 million.

The Spy "screen loss" is another wonderful BOM typo. Like Blake Lively's 15M weekend a few weeks back

Being a straight up action film F7 is far more limited in it's total potential than something like JW. It goes back to how certain films are bound by what they are and thus even the best WOM doesn't give them incredible legs after a big opening, it doesn't get people who just aren't interested in that kind of movie to go see it.

In non JW observations, a bit surprised Spy hasn't done a little better. With the stellar reviews and McCarthy's draw power I thought Bridesmaids numbers were a safe bet. Looks like it won't be a whole lot bigger than Tammy though. Maybe Tammy and Identity Theft's shitty quality finally caught up with her star power a bit.

I've explained this about three times now.  Spy will level out next weekend.  The Proposal did the exact same thing.  It dropped 46% in its second weekend when TRF2 opened.  It then leveled out the weeks after dropping in the 20's and 30's.  Spy will do the same,  How could you expect it not to drop what it did this week in the face of a record opener?

JP is the first movie i saw in theater but Alladin is the first anime i saw. That s why JP will always be in my hearth like Batman forever or Armaggedon i known it s not super giga
