Bottom line is that in dollars, it did worse than DoFP. In local currency (which is the equivalent of saying "current exchange rates"), Apocalypse did better but that doesn't account for the fact that, due to appreciation of the dollar, Apocalypse will have a smaller OS gross when its run wraps up.

This is definitely a good enough OW to at least keep it in the ballpack of DOFP WW (~700m). Still, the budget is way too high for this movie.

strangely enough this is getting almost unanimous critical acclaim in SK and the feedback from the audience from the pre-release screening was also very positive so good WOM's being spread at the moment. could probably do about $30M.

Have ticket prices risen so much in Brazil in two years? A 9% increase in tickets usually doesn't translate in a 50% gross spike. Unless X-MA had a 4-day OW?

Yes, they have risen, but not to that extend. Maybe more people watched it in 3D.

Thanks XMA is really bigger than DOFP in LATIN AMERICA. Colombia is amazing and must be the third biggest LA market behind Mexico and Brazil.

Business insider listed at 235M. Empire reported it was in the 250M range, and another magazine said it was the biggest X-Men movie in budget.
