China saving FOX's ass.

Fox didn't pay much attention to the campaign in China.Bad release date. No major actors come to Beijing premiere .No large advertisements around.Warcraft advertise is everywhere. If Fox do take China seriously,XMA can do much better.around $150~200M,get close to CA3 ($193M)in China.I always think XMA and CA3 will be very close in China, just like DoFP and CA2 did 2 years ago.Chinese have their own taste towards SH films. Most friends think XMA is much better than CA3.Monday drop is only 58%(CA3 drop 67%)So XMA will have stronger walk-ups and multi.Though XMA is too close to Warcraft,it's easy to crash DoFP.$120~130M is possible.

Fox really should have paid more attention to China, what a shame. This movie was obviously going to do well in China. Real shame.

Actuals:

Domestic:  $116,998,716    29.1%
Foreign:  $284,450,107    70.9%

Worldwide:  $401,448,823

I think BOM have got their numbers wrong as Screen Daily and Deadline have it's international gross at $286.2 million in their Monday update, so it should be $403 million.

Why hasn't there been an update on the international box office for Monday and Tuesday? It's done $13.5 million in China this week and probably about $4-5 million everywhere else.

Domestic:  $122,451,046    28.9%
Foreign:  $300,694,746    71.1%

Worldwide:  $423,145,792

$50m from China.

$8m from Japan.

$45m rest of the world.

Is 50m from China looking likely?  What a drop.  Hey at least Japan likes Deadpool.

As for China...Warcraft just stepped all over this didn't it?  Or did it step all over itself?

Kowhite, do you mean 50m for the total in China? I think District Engineer three meant the remaining money in China.

Oh, well that's not as bad.

I meant total...I haven't really been following its performance (Warcraft plus China has been on the brain).
