I see that to be a "True' DC fan denial of reality is a basic requirement.

Fact is, as far the movies goes, Marvel Studios level of execution has been vastly better then DC Studios.

Anybody denyng this just denying reality.

And still amused how many DC fans still worship at the altar of Zack Snyder,,though if poiting fingers as to who is to blame for DC's inability to catch up to the MCU, Snyder has got to take a good deal of the blame.

The DCEU had a much better start than the MCU at the box office.

And Disney moves up Mary Poppins Returns to Dec 19th.

I would love to be a fly on the wall at the Warners/DC Studios meeting on this, which is no doubt taking place this morning....

It moved from 4 days after to 2 days before. Is there really that big of a difference? Could lead to a possibly deflated OW, but that would lead to better legs.

That is like a team at the Superbowl that gets the first touchdown, but still end up losing big time to the other team.

Yeah right.

You and Futurist will spearhead the triggered troupe of crying stans whenever the MCU starts flopping.

You Marvel zombies are so transparent...

Seeing the results of recent Marvel and DC films is quite funny given that DC started from a way better place. The absolute antithesis of mishandling/saving a brand.

That is what makes this so interesting. DC Studios  had the rights to the full DC universe, but Marvel studios did not have the rights to 3 of their most popular and well known franchises;Spiderman, X Men and Fantastic Four. But Marvel still has out performed DC on every level, and it's not even close.

And Comcast seems to have given up on acquiring the Fox Entertainment Division, and is concentrating on a separate deal for the Sky Network (No Terminator jokes, please),leaving the rest of Fox's assets to Disney.

So looks as if, at this point, The Mouse will add The X Men,Fantastic Four, and the James Cameron franchises to it's holdings.

doesn't mean anything for Jim except maybe less competition for Avatar 2 (not that it matters)

I don't get this. Who owns the Avatar world and characters? I thought James C did.

Is Disney also going to own the Avatar mythos??

:gold:

Why, James, why??? :wintf:

Nah Jim and/or Lightstorm own the IP to Avatar. Disney have just acquired the contract to fund the sequels and reap the rewards

But wouldn't that give the Disney overlords power to change whatever they want to change? Will this mean that they will run the would-be franchise to the ground with endless spin-offs and lesser directors trying (unsuccessfully) to be Jim?

No because Jim owns the IP, probably for this exact reason. He wouldn't want his Star Wars to get Disney'd
