Basically the only "big" kid movie involving dinos is Ice Age 3, and I'm sure that was because it was part of the Ice Age franchise not because they added dinos. From my POV the whole world needed an attitude adjustment here. I want to see more atmosphere-driven efforts like this from Pixar (and other animation studios) and I fear the box office failure of this movie will be hugely detrimental to that wish. For me the reason to not wanting to see this is the art style and the story. It's amazing how bland and boring those are judging by the trailers. It being about a very small child and a lame playdoh dinosaur just makes it look like something for preschoolers. And by most accounts it pretty much is. It didn't look funny or pretty or exciting enough to justify paying a price of admission. It doesn't matter if it's an "atmosphere-driven effort". But I will just add that Korea, Japan, China, Australia, Brazil and many other markets have yet to launch yet. If a few of these big ones break out, you could add at least $200M OS from as yet unreleased territories. (If the China, Korea, Japan trio love it, you could add over 300 from those alone). However, that's pretty very unlikely to happen as the current markets have set a precedent that this is not a super fantastic film that will make big money over here. Except it doesn't do that very well. Fine and dandy wishing that movies attempting such qualities don't do too badly so the concept will get another chance, but this really didn't succeed in doing so.
