If you haven't read this, this is a fun read.

It is 5 famous directors talking about seeing Star Wars for the first time and how it affected them.

Ridley Scott mentioning that Star Wars made him ditch his current project and do Alien instead was a standout to me.

i also liked Ron Howard mentioning seeing the film, exiting the theater, asking his wife and them getting right back in another 2 hr line to see it again immediately.

I wonder if Excel will ever show up again. Between SW7's opening (plus total run) and the fact BVS will likely go well under 200 opening, he might just disappear forever.

I would say good riddance, but I'm an awful person. I want people to rag on him for eternity for his doubling, tripling, etc. down on one of the dumbest predictions I've seen. His reasoning was next level stupid and completely proven wrong.

Nah. Star Wars will be fine.

It always hurts and you know it. Usually the Hobbit movies only dropped online after the New Year. This was too soon for Star Wars. As soon as word gets on the street, the movie is fucked.
