Cookson
The fact that Jurassic Worlds opening weekend MIGHT be within 10 million of SW:TFW(if it does 215 OW) just shows how amazing and surprising JWs opening weekend number was. TFW is/was expecting that... but JW just came out of NOWHERE.

Same, no reaction at all to any of Batman V Superman. Not even the trifecta shot. Sold out IMAX crowd. There also wasn't a reaction to Civil War though. There definitely was to Deadpool (surprising, people were cheering as soon as he showed up on the screen) and KFP3 though!

Pretty sure Universal did the exact same thing with Jurassic World this summer. Let's hope for some big numbers as the night goes on.

GiantCALBears
Disney is low balling the hell out of it, remember the lesson Ari teaches us in Entourage. You don't let a movie ever gross less than an official studio projection even if it's by $1. Under promise, over deliver.

I don't know why people obsess over trailer reactions. I sat in numerous theaters in the lead-up to TDK and the trailer reaction every time was dead silence. BVS will make a shitload of money whether anyone here likes it or not. There was a comedy called The Change-Up a number of years ago that got huge laughs every time I saw the trailer in theaters. Massive flop. Edited December 19, 2015 by redfirebird2008

WrathOfHan
I'm conflicted about Ewoks in ROTJ. They're crucial to the Battle of Endor but the village scenes in the second act are just kinda eh. Fun seeing Luke mess with the Force on 3P0 at least. Maxmoser3
The only problem with this weekend with Star Wars is the usual Sunday football games. But I think sports don't affect box office anymore.
