Probably they're so smart that they won't waste their money on the film.....and rather save it for Kung Fu Panda 3. Cause that film is actually the exact opposite of Norm of the North......and does look million times better.

True.

And The Noun is the most generic title ever. You could fill that blank with anything and make a horror movie out of it

Just looking at what's in front of me:

THE CUP

THE WATER

THE PEN

THE MOUSE

THE DESK

THE PAPER

THE KEYBOARD

I heard The Keyboard is actually pretty good.

J. Edgar.

An actor alone can't sell a movie to huge numbers anymore.

At most they do decent business like Joy, which was sold as "Jennifer Lawrence: The Motion Picture".

Joy is underperforming though, and WOM is really poor. It won't even make 60m.

And J Edgar flopped as well.

No actor can be a draw on his own nowadays.

So... the god awful movie Norm of the North has exactly 1 positive review out out like 34 on RT. Its from "The Globe and Mail". That publication is one of the 23 of 320+ that gave TFA a rotten review. It was a different reviewer, but still. How can a publication have credibility with poorly representing the quality of respective films.

Norm of the North better than TFA confirmed.

Because people don't always agree? You have to accept that there's going to be divisive opinions in critical analysis. Sometimes a film that everyone hates will get a positive review. Sometimes one that everyone loves will get a negative. Inside Out and MMFR and Selma and Boyhood all got negative reviews. Not many, sure, but enough that it's clear they were not truly universally beloved. And that's fine. The people who wrote those reviews (or the positive one for NOTN) are free to have that opinion. You're free to disagree.

It would be boring if every RT score was either 100% or 0%.

Also, LOL at all of the, "The Revenant is going to had toxic WoM" comments.

The Revenant is obviously completely inaccessible to the GA and everyone hates Inarritu.  Totally why it's about to have another 30m weekend.

Hey, you can't blame a lot of us for thinking that based on the movie. Obviously that is not the case at all though.

Next weekend looks like a typical January weekend of movies their studios clearly having no faith in coming and going fast. The 5th Wave looks like another YA non-starter, Dirty Grandpa looks like a waste of everyone's time, and I don't even know what the hell The Boy is.

Dirty Grandpa looks pretty funny imo and The Boy looks creepy as The Conjuring imo. It wont do squat at the box office but neither did It Follows and that was awesome.

Dirty Grandpa does look pretty funny, tho. I can see it doing a good 19-21M OW.

The film is about a woman who invented a special mop. Anyone who thought this film was going to do gangbusters business is insane.
