March is full of flops.

Its weird because at one time, March had a "big" movie every single weekend. There was Zootopia on March 4 and BvS on March 25th as they are now. But Warcraft was supposed to be on March 11 before they fled to (what I think is a worse date) in June and KFP3 was on March 18th before their horrible miscalculation releasing a week for Chinese New Year, apparently it is badly underperforming in China.

Even the March 11 releases are actually pretty week. Cloverfield will do well on Friday, but I won't be surprised if Friday is almost half the weekend take. Grimsby, Perfect Match and Young Messiah are all DOA. On March 18, Allegiant will do whatever, Miracles from Heaven looks like another "Heaven is for real" and should do around 20M for the 5 day opening.

Grimsby will do Zoolander 2 numbers. At best it does the same as The Dictator. Young Messiah might do okay-ish numbers. Perfect Match might do something like 10/25 as well. Allegiant is gonna sink and Miracles from Heaven won't come close to Heaven is for Real.

Zoolander is bombing because they didn't stick with the 2oolander name

Coolio already made that joke Chewy. You are 40 pages+ late.

You are consistently late to the party in this thread :P

if they called it 2oolander like they were supposed to it would've had at least a 40m opening.

I am not joking, and I expressed my outrage the minute they changed the title way back when

But either way a quick fuck you to @CoolioD1 for good measure

That June schedule is such a massive clusterfuck lmao.

And yeah, changing Panda 3 was pretty stupid on their behalf since it is doing bad numbers in China compared to initial expectations. They wanted 300M and it I haven't been up to date on that but I think it won't even make 150M.

Just for fun, some comments on Zootopia:

"YUP! I'M SOLD! THIS MOVIE CAN TAKE ME MONEY, TAKE MY CREDIT CARD, TAKE MY BANK ACCOUNT and TAKE MY SOUL! THIS YEAR, YEAR OF THE FREAKIN' BUNNY & FOX! MY BODY IS READY FOR THIS FILM!"

"This is a good movie and this is NOT made for furrie's specifically it's just for people that like good movie's people are talking about Furrie's can we enjoy how good this movie will be?"

"its funny seeing people get worked up on this movie because it contains anthropomorphic animals, on which people think it automatically equals furry yiff porn in general, there has always been anthro/furry charas in cartoons and movies ever since the early times of cartoons and animation that you grew up with, yet people dont complain about that lol, not every furry likes/draws porn, many are very creative and make really amazing suits etc."

"I know why people didn't scream "furries" in Chicken Little. First off, all of these animals are mammals, which is why they are called "furry" in the first place. As you may have seen, there were some mammals in Chicken Little. But most of them were background characters, not the main focus in the movie."

"Honestly, people, stop bitching on about furries."

"I won't even bother with the endless 2D films from the 90's and earlier, but Kung Fu Panda 1,2 and 3, Chicken Little, Chicken Run, and Madagascar all came out without this idiocy about furries ruining everything. I honestly think what's happening is the characters in this film are attractive enough that non-furries (who weren't alive for the releases of movies like The Rescuers, The Great Mouse Detective, Robin Hood, etc, etc) are feeling the twinge themselves for the first time, and are lashing out because they're so used to being on the bandwagon of hatred and mocking."

LOL - "this movie looks awesome, but what the fuck is with the fan fiction im seeing on google? its nothing but porn! what the fuck is up with people making pornogrhapic pictures of cute characters? the fox and rabbit are cute creatures ( i admit the fox is kinda handsome. lol) but why make sexual images of them? why cant people leave a franchise alone?"

hahahahahaha @WrathOfHan got it right, the internet! Behold it's power.

The lesson here: have your license on you! :)

But I still don't have a license.

That does have a good ring to it.

Wouldn't call Warcraft a big movie, and the June release means it can bomb in peace without all the attention

Its really weird but all the major Christian movies from now through April have started selling advance tickets online. Risen, Young Messiah, Miracles from Heaven and Gods Not Dead 2 tickets can be purchased on Fandango. No idea why though, I don't think there are people eagerly awaiting to buy the midnight screening tickets or something, those movies would sell the same amount of tickets whether they go on sale now or 2 days prior to release.

Churches and church groups probably find it helpful to buy as far in advance as they can, so they can let their congregations know.

I know I'm late to this, but yeah, we just confirmed a group of 450 next Thursday for Risen.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT

We have a new theme option we're introducing. It's called "Movie Background" -- the backgrounds will change through the year, based on cool upcoming releases. It's active now, so if you'd like to change from the default, go to the bottom of your forum page and select "Themes" in the bottom left.

wish yall had this when mj2 was coming out :P

Oh boy could you imagine a line of people dressed up as furries to see Zootopia, like people dress up for Star Wars or Harry Potter?

Imagine being a parent and having to explain that to their kids lol (and I have no problem with furries).

Imagine being a parent and having to explain that to their kids who this is really aimed at lol (and I have no problem with furries). But if they sat in the theater in costume, they would probably block the screen.

Parents don't know. They're gonna be just as freaked out as the kids
