This seems like your typical buddy cop action comedy. 

 

Ryan Reynolds, imo, is an underrated actor who hasn't picked the right projects (again imo) but I think he's one of the actors who can do action comedy really well. He is very good at improv and one liners. 

 

A film like this is right up his alley. 

 

Of course what differentiates the good action comedies from the bad ones is execution. 

 

Hopefully this one was executed well.

He has the same agent as his wife and from the looks of it, she's getting roles with pretty good directors/concepts (Feig and Reed Morano). 

 

I dont think his agent is the issue. His issue is his films aren't reliable at the box office and in the end money talks.

Tatum did generate a lot of is credibility via is own production company/producer side and is ambitious Magic Mike franchise, getting involved in the production of Logan Lucky for an good example of that.

 

Has for Reynold he is an great voice actor imo (The voice is an impressive performance) and seem perfectly cast for a movie like this.
