Between this and the news that he's cast the guy from One Direction in his new movie, this hasn't been a good couple of days for you bro.

What are you talking about? When they cast Harry Styles I pretty much danced all night to the best song ever.

For me Zootopia's succes is not surprising at all. I knew its going to be huge hit since first trailer. Everybody loved it. Especially this sloth scene. I LOL-ed at Box office com 180M long range predictions. embarassing.

Have you seen the reactions online? People have been going crazy crazy crazy, but not in anticipation of seeing the sun.

The sloth's face as he gets the joke = Zootopia's #1 selling point. People just loved that.

Also, kinda off topic but The Lady In The Van has quietly made a tidy sum for a movie with zero awards attention. I mean compare it to Room and Carol...

And very off topic but people are finally seeing through JLaw's artifice. Better late than never:

I dont think Dsiney expected Zootopia to breakout like this. The marketing was not even that spectacular. Now the bar is raised for Finding Dory.

In the Q4 2015 conference call, CEO Bob Iger speculated that this film would be a "real sleeper hit". I dunno if he thought it would do this well.

Really? This one?

Actually didn't like it when I first saw it. I only became a big believer when I saw the last US trailer.

I think Maggie Smith is definitely a draw for a specific audience. I even saw an interview with her where she said that more people notice her in public now because of Downton Abbey than they ever did before, even more so than during the Harry Potter days.

We're gonna have three 300M+ hits before Summer season even starts (Deadpool, Zootopia, BVS). Has that ever happened before?

Nope. 2015 had two, AMERICAN SNIPER and FURIOUS 7. It's technically just one since AS was a 2014 film.

Me too. Like alright nothing new with this movie. Even the last trailer I was just alright with it.

The sloth trailer and all the movie posters and song title spin offs had me laughing tho. They basically sold the movie to me (along with Disney's name).

Same here. I thought it would be another bland animated movie with talking animals.
