Good holds so far, further showing just how big a moviegoing day "Discount Tuesday" has become.

I've joked about that being a myth, but seriously: What chain does it? Where can you find it? Is it matinee prices all day? Before 6?

All theaters in Canada have them. Cinemark has them in the US: http://www.cinemark.com/discounts-discount-day

Regal is starting it at select theaters: http://www.regmovies.com/promotions/regal-value-days

Edwards Cerritos Stadium 10
ALL DAY Tuesday enjoy $6.10 tickets. Find Tickets and Showtimes!
Edwards Fairfield Stadium 16 & IMAX
ALL DAY Tuesday enjoy $6.10 tickets

So do the Alamo drafthouses:  Discount Tuesdays
General Admission to the Alamo Drafthouse on Tuesdays is $8 all day. 3D shows are $11.50. Beer special: $3 off local pints.

And some smaller chains: https://www.showcasecinemas.com/programs/bargain-tuesdays

If AMC jumps in, then Discount Tuesdays will almost become a national thing.

I know at my theatre chain tickets are six bucks instead of 11. Tuesday's are most of the time our busiest day of the week. And at least in Canada it's pretty widespread.

Looks like a lot of theaters, but some of the deals are very limited. Also, it's only about 1/3rd of their total locations. And not all of them are on Tuesdays.

Yeah, not a big believer in discount Tuesdays. Lots of the discounts are on popcorn and candy, really. I don't know if that's a big draw. Maybe it's the perception that Tuesday is a discount day that drives the trend.

I've only been to Regals in NYC and they don't do matinees of any kind. You can go at 10AM and it's $15. That's why I'm an AMC man.

The fuck? You haven't been looking, then.

Click on a showtime that starts before noon.

I did look. For many years. That's brand new. E-Walk didn't have that for a very long time. Didn't matter anyway. The Empire across the street almost always had the better movies and twice the amount of screens.

I did check at Regal Union Square, but they don't have the before noon deal for some reason.

Trust me, I lived there for almost 10 years until April. Union Square has never had matinees and it's a new thing at E-Walk.
