When studios pour hundreds of millions of dollars in producing and marketing a brand-name summer reboot, they expect more than just ok numbers. I will learn to be ok with this; I have to. Maybe they can still do one just with a lower budget? Maybe.

When studios pour hundreds of millions of dollars in producing and marketing a brand-name summer reboot, they expect more than just ok numbers. I will learn to be ok with this; I have to. I wouldn't fret yet. This should get a sequel. If it can hit 400 WW, I see no reason for Sony to give up on it.

The Gotham Bank
I wonder... this must be the peak of animation prowess at the box office. Look at how much money animation has made lately. This must be the peak, right? Is it possible for animated movies to be even bigger at the box office?

Look at how much money animation has made lately. This must be the peak, right? Is it possible for animated movies to be even bigger at the box office? Depends. Across companies and films, this is certainly a huge period. Going back three years, we've had seven films crest 300m. That's very, very strong. And we're seeing it across several companies, not one or two. In terms of specific films, though, we've seen bigger peaks. TLK, Shrek 2, FN, BatB, Aladdin, TS2, and possibly even MI, Shrek1, and TS1 were all comparably larger films, probably.
