You could be right, but even if it is $10M coming you would think Fox would still be tracking.  That alone would bring it to nearly $550M worldwide, in theatrical alone.  On a $170M budget, that's a success, if disappointing based on expectations.

They stopped tracking domestically according to BOM.  That won't affect reporting from Japan

good.  I hope they eventually update domestically, too, but I doubt they will.

The $110 million worldwide opening weekend for Bourne is great. With the reasonable $120 million budget, it's going to make some good money. I expect we'll be seeing another Bourne movie.

Peace,

I'm not even sure they go wide outside of middle America.

It did come out where I live. I kinda wish the Democrats made a movie about Trump just to see which one is more ridiculous

A Trump Is Wrong documentary could make for some great comedy, and also provide some sad commentary at the same time.

RT Watch update: Finding Dory, The Nice Guys, and Captain America remain the three best reviewed films of the summer by a good margin. Will another film before the summer ends be able to hit the 90%+ range, or hit a 7.0 rating or higher? Where will Suicide Squad end up? Will update again once Suicide Squad (and Nine Lives) reviews come in.

Peace,

Mike

So @mahnamahna- if estimates hold and Pets gets close to 18.5M this weekend, where do you see it ending its run at right now?

cc: @a2knet

It had a great hold this weekend. It just needs around 45% weekly drops to hit 350M and it is holding much stronger than that, beating Inside Out is still a possibility. If Illumination is smart, they will give it a Labor Day expansion as well in a month's time.

Lol, seeing Tarzan so low and thinking that it had the second leggiest run for a live-action flick behind CI this summer. How did critics messed that up so bad??

The disappointment over TREK's drop is even outside the forums.

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=4210&p=.htm

Anyways, I think a lot of people on BOT are simply stating that they are disappointed with TREK's 2nd weekend, as opposed to going insane or over-reacting or behaving out of the ordinary.

Box office prophets going hard at Trek as well

Quote

Second place goes to Star Trek Beyond, but its financial hole is getting deeper with every day that passes. After opening last weekend to a lower than expected $59.3 million, the bottom drops out this weekend. Star Trek Beyond pulled in only $24 million, giving it a nasty drop of 60%. This is disappointing, because it shows us that the Star Trek series is falling into old patterns. The first two films in the reboot fell between 43 and 47% in their second weekends, whereas this one declined 60%. This is what the previous series did. Star Trek Nemesis fell a shocking 76% in weekend two ($18.5 million opening, $4.5 million second frame). Star Trek Insurrection fell 62%, but Star Trek: First Contact fell a more reboot-like 42%, as that was the first film in New Generation series. Paramount now has a real problem on its hands, as this one cost a stupid $185 million, and chances are getting bigger and bigger that some sort of huge writedown is going to be needed. So far, Beyond has earned only $55 million overseas and will need another $400 million globally if there is to be a chance at a theatrical profit (not going to happen).

Finding Dory will end up being another strong film from Pixar in terms of multiplier/endurance. It sits with a 3.47 multiplier right now (with an estimated $469 million after this weekend). If it ends with a final domestic gross of $485-490 million, it will end with a 3.6 to 3.62 multiplier. This is another strong multiplier for Pixar's top-tier films, particularly since Finding Dory is a sequel and the largest opener Pixar has ever had (with a $135 million opening).

Pixar Movie OW Multipliers

90%+ RT Score Class

Finding Dory - 3.47 (Projected final multiplier: ~ 3.6)

Inside Out - 3.94

Toy Story 3 - 3.76

Up - 4.30

Wall-E - 3.55

Ratatouille - 4.39

The Incredibles - 3.71

Finding Nemo - 4.83

Monsters, Inc - 4.09

Toy Story 2 - 4.28 (using first wide weekend)

A Bug’s Life - 4.89 (using 3-day wide weekend), 3.56 (using 5-day wide)

Toy Story - 6.58 (using 3-day), 4.91 (using 5-day)

The ‘Other’ Pixar Movies

The Good Dinosaur (76%) - 3.14 (using 3-day), 2.22 (using 5-day)

Monsters University (78%) - 3.26

Brave (78%) - 3.58

Cars 2 (39%) - 2.89

Cars (74%) - 4.06

Peace,

Mike

It was not made by Disney. It isn't full of jokes either.

In some ways, I guess the reviewers approached the movie differently from how the audience did. Also, the complete negativity which surrounded Tarzan from the time it was announced cannot be discounted as well, even subconsciously it has to have affected reviewers who would think "This movie has got some bad press, it must be bad"

AWFUL

Still, I didn't like GB either and that was fresh on RT. Why? God forbid if reviewers were seen giving it a negative review.
