Okay.  I will try to get the final reserved seating report out by or before midnight.  I have not had a chance to even start on the 9:00-9:59 report because 10:00-10:30 had the most showtimes yet.  I will have to combine 9:00 all the way to 11:00+closing.  I will most likely just combine everything into one report.  Separate everything by movie.  A few observations....  Bad Moms should stay in evening theaters forever.  Ben-Hur was HOT around 6:00-8:00 and emptied out for the 10pm showings.  War Dogs took away some of Sausage Party's audience.  I was a little disappointed Sausage didn't fill up 100%.  I took one report for Sausage Party at...let say... 9:54.  It had 46.  I came back to it at 9:59+seconds to get a more accurate number for 10:00pm.  It increased to like 54.  8 people increase.  It might have ended up selling out 30 minutes into the movie.  (actually 10 min into the movie with 20 min previews.)

Last, there was no spillover tonight so Nine Lives got to keep the late night shows.

Just wanted to make note of something,

Suicide Squad is the #1 movie in the world right now.

Suicide Squad soundtrack #1 on Billboard Top 100 Albums

BvS has been the #1 Blu Ray in the U.S. For 4 weeks straight.

Weird.

DC comics are #1 this month in sales.  And rightly so.  I love Rebirth.

Weird BVS is selling huge on Blu-ray, since everyone in the World hated the movie

Hasn't anyone noticed lately that BOM has recently updated the WW-grosses of each Pixar-film?

Take a look at how much they did WW-wise now: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/franchises/chart/?id=pixar.htm

Especially Toy Story 3's $1.067B......since now it's above Pirates 2's $1.066B.

SS almost matched BVS's weekly BO

WEEK
NUMBER
Batman v Superman Suicide Squad
1 $209,072,793
3-31-16 / 1
4,242 / 4,242
-
$209,072,793
$179,104,728
8-11-16 / 1
4,255 / 4,255
-
$179,104,728

2 $64,177,749
4-7-16 / 1
4,256 / 4,256
-69.3%
$273,250,542
$62,468,607
8-18-16 / 1
4,255 / 4,255
-65.1%
$241,573,335

BVS added 57 more to it's cume.

SS should add at least that much as it's catching up and coming week should be even.

The week after that should be higher than BVS as TJB opened and BVS dropped big.

The week after that has Labor Day weekend for SS so it will get ahead agian.

57 more will give SS 298.5. It will surely be pushed to 300. But it could get there without any help.

Kubo is certainly one of the better movies this summer. I had 3 (not quite major but not minor either) problems with it but otherwise it is a captivating, exciting, and emotionally gripping beautiful piece of animated film.

How is BH expected to cross 10m. Deadline early Fri is 3-3.5

Using 3.5 full Friday,

0.9 + 2.6 + 3 (+15%) + 2.25(-25%) = 8.75

It will need 4+ on Friday (including previews) to do 10 over the weekend.

0.9 + 3.1 + 3.5 (+13%) + 2.6(-25%) = 10

EDIT: THR reported Fri as 4.5 so then 10+ should happen.

Define huge.

Imagine the Blu-Ray sales of a giant fanboy driven movie that offered fans an exclusive extended edition that they could only find with the BluRay and digital release.

Then imagine those sales coupled with a bigger than usual advertising campaign for a home video release that's not being released around Christmas (btw this is one of the factors as to why I find comparing Blu Ray sales to other studio's movies to be bloody ridiculous, studio's all spend differently, Blu Ray releases are not in competition with anything apart from the Studio's expectations).

This weekend seems like a good weekend to release a big movie. TREK would have loved to come right now in hindsight.

Less competition this weekend and next with quasi-summer weekdays (as schools star reopening). Then Labor Day in 3rd weekend.

Never added up the last few days of bad moms at my theatre but I think it ended with around 160M. Give or take. Surprise word of mouth breakout in my town, as it only opened with something like 23-26M.

It's looking at ~115 dom...wonder if it can have some more insane holds and challenge CI/GB?

Maybe that's too big a task but takes one crazy weekend to change the trajectory.

(14-days back folks were 50-50 on PETS over IO. After last weekend it's PETS over TJB, and then over DM2 will seem real post Labor Day)

STX needed this after Free State. Even if they didn't lose too much money themselves, it really helped rebuild their pride/brand whatever you want to call it.
