LOL of the three movies I saw this weekend, their PTA for the 3-day were from highest to lowest, $1476, $911, and $73. LOLOL Sea of Trees LOL

The weekend totals too are kinda pathetic

Southside with You - 1.324M

Equity - 201K

The Sea of Trees - $7,421

Definitely an indie weekend for me.

It's really well positioned to be the biggest year ever. And I am feeling even better than expected grosses for some of the Autumn and Holiday movies.

I had my doubts at the beginning of the year. I knew winter/spring would be great -- which the seasons eventually were.
But that July (second biggest ever) and august (second biggest ever) would be that good I could never have guessed. September looking strong as well, and with Arrival getting raves November is not looking too shabby either. And those 650$ TFA made during the forthnight will be compensated by RO, Sing, and some others... I hope.
It's the year of minor performers. A few flops here and there but the top 20 this year will be the opposite of last year. kinda.

Suicide Squad crosses $300m. Other than Transformers, has any other rotten movie performed so well in light of horrible reviews? (I'm not counting batman v. superman.)

I made an IMDB list of all rotten films that grossed a billion WW: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls031217282/

Other than Transformers, there is Alice in Wonderland, Minions, PotC 2, PotC 4 and The Phantom Menace.

The Twilights (the last four all adjust to $300m+ dom),  The 2nd and 3rd Pirate movies (even the 4th WW)

I thought Suicide Squad will be the first movie this year to end its run in the 200M+ club. So far we still have none ending on that range. Big gap from the 300M+ club to the next in line
