I think there's a real shot at 100. Thor2's IM gives 113. Cap2's puts it just under 90 but I think that was opening when some schools were still on spring break (exact same IM as furious 7). Deadpool's puts it just barely under 100, however you want to interpret that

900k doubled storks and is 12 % more than Angry Birds.  That puts it at 42-43m

It's going higher.  Home made 650k.  And keep in mind, Angry Birds does have a fanbase and was based on a mobile game, so midnight numbers were a bit inflated.

The marketplace was starving for a movie that was 1) youth-skewing (the fall movies were all aimed at adults) and 2) felt like an event (which none of the fall movies did) so this number makes total sense. Still, huge.

3) People love visually ground breaking movies. (Avatar, Alice in Wonderland, etc).

Sure about that?

Pretty much, even if it finishes with $275M or thereabouts (the second weekend drop will be around 50-55% at least since it's a comic book movie, and Fantastic Beasts will obviously make a dent in its third weekend, so it won't have much time to develop legs beyond Thanksgiving weekend since the plethora of December releases will force theaters to drop it).

In other news, my curse is over :)

Lol, you're stanning for everything. Either something proved you right eventually or you were going to singlehandedly destroy the industry.
