to be fair tho, even Frozen had a lower 3-day with $68M

And Thanksgiving FSS tend to be lower, no?

True.

The one way Frozen's Thanksgiving OW-record would be beaten in the future.....is if Illumination put any of their movies there on that weekend. And with more marketing & theater counts.

The thing about Thanksgiving week is the overpowered Wednesday and Friday otherwise it's not a time frame for huge openings - Catching Fire and Frozen being the biggest 5 days on this period ever.

All the traveling on Saturday and Sunday really keep this weekend from being more explosive.

The week before Thanksgiving tends to be the key November slot as well as the first weekend.

DWA and Pixar have had flops in that slot so it's clearly not a bulletproof slot by any means

OMG the UK number is just unreal...Also congrats to China starting stanning for Wizarding World...This will easily be the highest grossing Wizarding World film there. I expect 100m and 60m from Japan

LOL it's normal for this time frame Dude. Perfectly Ok

It's fine....but it's a little bit lower than what few others expected. Some expected $60M+ on the 3-day.

The only way the Thanksgiving record could be beaten is if any studio put an insanely anticipated blockbuster there. Illumination for example. Records need to be topped. :P

Now I am starting to worry about FB's second week...The drops must be big..:o:o

even it it does drop hard it's perfectly natural for a post-holiday frame. and personally I think it'll be just fine, it already showed its great sustaining power against one of its biggest challengers.

That's good news at least. We got it in our backwater town, with some award noms and more expansion, maybe it'll finish above 11$ mil.

It could do $20m with Award noms.

A24's Room which also opened in Oct, was at $3.4m after Thanksgiving w/e and didn't hit $8m until the last w/e of January and finished with $14.7m

Dallas Buyers club was at $10.2m (with round the same 600 theaters after 5 weeks) after Thanksgiving and finished with $27m
