Weekend Thread: Friday Estimates (pg 6): Rings 5.6M | Split 4.75M | Hidden Figures 3.1M | Dog 2.8M | LLL 2.3M | Space Between Us 1.4M

The only kinda bright spot of Rings marketing was those set-up pranks, which was already done with Carrie anyway. Everything else look dire and dreadful (not the wanted kind). Reviews are hilarious though.

Oh well, go Hidden Firgures!

Scary Movie 5 is still a shitty movie. Rings is just slightly shittier. I don't plan on sitting through either one again. All I could think of through Rings was why is Vincent D'Onofrio and Johnny Galecki in this when they had way better things going on in their lives at the time (and I'm not even a TBBT fan.)

IMDb message boards shutting down effective February 20, 2017

http://www.imdb.com/board/announcement

big news. IMDb was home to lots of discussions, some dating back to early 2000's

After in-depth discussion and examination, we have concluded that IMDb's message boards are no longer providing a positive, useful experience for the vast majority of our more than 250 million monthly users worldwide.

Translation: Our message boards are the bridge under which some of the Internet's nastiest troll have gathered. We've never felt like providing any moderation and we're not starting now. So, we're burning down the bridge drive off the trolls. ?

last year, Hail, Cesar! got a C- and increased 40% from real Friday #.

I believe Hail Caesar also played old. Horror doesn't do that.

That's terrible for Rings.

6% on RT and its audience score is dropping like a meteorite.

By the way, how the hell is this Rings movie more expensive than Resident Evil The Final Chapter? Where did all that budget go?

Rings cost $25m, Resident Evil cost $40m.

Were audiences just not smart enough to get Hail Caesar? I'm not saying it was great but it wasn't a fuckin' C- CinemaScore which is like an F basically. I finally saw it last week and I enjoyed it. I thought it was solid anyway.

If C- is an F, what about the films that get a D+, D or D- (like Drive) ?
