Will Kong have better or worse legs than Godzilla?

Is 150 m DOM on the table?

It loses IMAX and PLF next week as well, so expect an almost 60% drop next weekend, it should stabilize post that, would say 130-140M currently more possible than 150M but it may turn out to be another Tarzan in terms of legs.

Logan is a brave film, period. No, it's not performing like the Dark Knight, if only because this is not Batman, there is no power house villain performance like Ledger's and no mystical allure was added because of somebody's death. I liked Logan way more, far more emotionally engaging than TDK.

Kudos to everyone involved in the direction the film took. People who are complaining about it being depressing should grow the f*ck up or go watch Iron Man 3 to feel happy and lift their spirits with a hero- kid pandering relationship they can get behind.

That's a great way to start a Logan.vs.TDK flame war.

I enjoyed Get Out a lot. Not best of the year material or anything IMO, and I don't quite understand why the reviews are as good as they are. But it's a relevant and well made film. I just wish there were more surprises and scares. Still a solid 7.5/10

I have literally no idea why analysts and sites had Logan at high-40s for the weekend after a 40% drop or so. Prior X-Men movie patterns and the loss of the highest grossing screens was going to be hard to overcome. I felt the best it could do was probably 39-40M.

They are mostly writers that can't extrapolate and do math. I can do the math like many here in this forum, but I can't write for shit. Rare bird that gets both.

I know a literary genius that once said to me. "4000 is about a 1/3rd 7500 right".  Stick to Shakespeare I told him.

Kong hurt his family. I assume so anyway.

Good for Kong if it holds! Got a B+ Cinemascore and is at a 3.8/5 on Flixster so not great WOM but should be good enough to possibly give it legs. I guess we'll see.

He just probably wants the Power-Rangers-film to be a bigger hit than Kong: Skull Island.

Which ain't happening unless that film breaks out.

Dude, it's the Internet. Two things can't just be good and left at that.

Anyway, so much for my hope of Logan avoiding the x-men legs curse.

I don't think it will, for the same reason the RT score for Beauty and the Beast will be mostly irrelevant next weekend.  The brands are entrenched, meaning people have already decided whether they like the product or not, and are unlikely to be persuaded to change their minds.  If someone loves the animated Beauty and the Beast, they aren't likely to be discouraged by reviews saying it is the same thing.  Likewise, I just can't see the Power Rangers movie suddenly turning a whole bunch of moviegoers who have not seen the show in years into PR fans, even should that movie have good reviews.

I thought La La Land was supposed to end up the highest grossing musical of all time or something.

It was dashed like its hopes on Oscar night.
