Part of me wonders if GITS should have been done by the Waschowskis. At least there would be a debate about the quality of the film. I've never seen a movie be so widely considered to be "average" like this GITS remake. It seems like nobody hates it enough to call it bad, and nobody likes it enough to call it good.

14-16 Million OW

4-6 Million SW

Yeah, it won't cross the 40 million mark, and rightfully so

However it may make back the money overseas.

Which is the worst place to be. Nothing to drive the conversation either way. Extreme badness still keeps a movie name in circulation (BvS, Suicide Squad) and people check out things that are talked about (even negatively). This is just meh, move on.

@AJG Good if they go direct to TV like Allegiant 2.

@alisson23 That Alita girl isn't even a (Latin) star to somewhat justify why they cast her but a total unknown (in which case they could have cast an Asian). So latin washin talk is justified.

As they only get 25% from China,

It would need $200m from other overseas markets to make it's budget back with a $40m gross from US.

It was pretty empty here in the UK last night.

Nah, Power Rangers was extremely bad and still no one is talking about it.

PR is based on a bad TV show. Nothing to go "OMG, so baaaad!". OTOH, when Oscar winner Terrio, Oscar winner Batfleck, God(and)father Nolan, etc delivered BvS that got people talk. Also, when Suicide Squad sucked up the joint after all those glorious trailers promising something never seen before. Stuff that isn't supposed to be bad but is worse gets the talking, not stuff everyone expected to suck anyway.

BB will be over 15m prob around 15.4-15.5

Holy shit! BB is another super breakout. It's gonna keep #1 no matter how much BatB jumps today cause it'll jump too.

Damn, why couldn't BatB make 50M? All signs pointed that it would have. BB cut into its audience?

That and i think BatB burned so much demand already that a slight course correction was inevitable

Maybe. It only dropped 47% which is good. It'll should make the 500m mark still.
