Sly was a huuuge star in Poland in 90s when VHS market was in its prime. :) Also, I like his Dredd, better than the new one with Carl Urban.

Admit it, it’s mostly because of Rob Schneider.

(Juby is right though, Sly’s OS popularity at a certain time can’t be underestimated.)

TA success already did that solo films could explode. Both Iron Man 3 and Captain America 2 doubled its previous grosses OS.

On the other side, sequels through Ultron did not have that jump. As you well say, Guardians 2 is the most disappointing run (if $474m OS can be called a disappointment) in relation with its predecessor.

Taking into account that IW is TA all over again, Ant-Man 2 could jump a lot.

Ant Man though wasn't featured in, let alone a star in AIW.  It's best hope for a huge jump is if people think they need to watch it to get a jump on what's happening in Avengers 4.  Right now any boost will come from his appearance in CW, the good WOM from the first which had good legs and the elevation of Wasp to a SH co-lead.

After last year behaviour and what we are seeing this year, I think Marvel can do the impossible

Holiday in UK and South Korea, perhaps they helped? people here were expecting 15-20m per weekday

Ah yes I had forgotten about those. Will have to see how it drops on Tuesday, it should fall harder than normal and then stabilize on Wednesday. But still a great number nonetheless.

And 1.2 billion already :ohmygod:

I doubt the fall will be that big, the only real loss is SK. UK's Monday was likely extremely terrible for a bank holiday since it was literal perfect weather and very warm all over the country.
