Looking around Orlando, The Mummy is selling ok at some locations and well at others. It Comes at Night and Megan Leavey are selling like shit; their PTAs will probably be close this weekend. The theaters that have My Cousin Rachel are selling VERY poorly; the showing that just started at Disney Springs (usually Orlando's busiest theater) sold a whopping two seats.

My Cousin Rachel's audience is likely going to be very old. I expect the average moviegoer seeing it this weekend will have been alive when the 1952 version came out.

Final update for my theater tonight:

The Mummy: 44/78

It Comes at Night: 6/78

Megan Leavey: 0/78

This is ok for The Mummy, but nothing that indicates it's doing over 30M. It Comes at Night is selling like shit compared to other horror movies; IIRC, Life sold 28 seats, TBBM sold 14 or 18 seats, and Rings sold about 14 seats across two showings. Megan Leavey is in bomb territory; this is the first time I've seen a movie here with nothing sold for previews.

What's weird is some theaters started previews around 4.

Next week:

NEW IN THEATERS DISTRIBUTOR RELEASE
47 Meters Down
Horror Thriller
Entertainment Studios Wide
All Eyez on Me
Drama
Lionsgate/Summit 2,400
Cars 3
Animation
Buena Vista 3,900
Rough Night
Comedy / Drama
Sony / Columbia 3,000
The Book of Henry
Drama
Focus Features 575

BOP's original estimate for Cars was 4k, Rough night was 3,200, and All Eyez on Me was 2,500. The latter could be in for one of the year's best PTAs.

Book of Henry should probably be in 1k+ theaters on the 23rd.

Wherever I look, Mummy is selling dangerously close to Legend of the Sword :(

I would say that somebody should've started a "which will be higher: The Mummy's opening weekend or RT score" but nobody could've ever imagined the latter would be as low as it's turned out to be.

I think they're dumping The Book of Henry. If the tonal disaster of a trailer is indicative of the movie, reviews are likely to be savage.

Nah, midsize theaters need SOMETHING else besides Transformers on the 23rd if It Comes at Night and Megan Leavey are going to perform as weak as I think they are. Maybe Focus ditches the 2 week requirement to get it in more theaters? Or better yet: THE BEGUILED GOES FUCKING WIDE
