North Shore Update

Incredibles 2 is running 229% ahead of DM3, 11% ahead of Homecoming, and 10% behind Rangarok.

That awesome and although a bit behind Ragnarok but even nationwide if it runs a bit behind it still will beat it on opening weekend since this will be more walk up base.

Again for the record this is from my local theater but this is still good for it and it has less showtimes than SMH and TR but the same as DM3. This will change next Tuesday will the final showtimes come.

The IMAX theater's giving Ocean's Eight two (!!) screens, but Solo is keeping the IMAX screen.  Both Deadpool and Solo will be dropping down 2D theaters from 2 to 1.  Show Dogs is gone.  No advanced sale data due to their barbaric no reserved seating policy.

lol DAMN, my theater is underestimating Ocean's 8 big time. How tf is it not getting two screens for the entire week? Better question: HOW TF IS ADRIFT KEEPING THE BIGGEST SCREEN?

Summer hours seem to back too

Well, 1st local (Cinemark) is set...and it HAS decided to pick up BOTH Action Point and Adrift, even though it was not preselling any tickets to either til it booked them tonight...it has also decided on 3 new foreign films...I guess holdovers outside of the big 3 were atrocious, b/c they LITERALLY have none booked:)...and they are looking to make any money they can for the next 2 weeks...here's the insane set for the 12 this week...

NEW

Action Point (1)

Adrift (1)

BJ Superhero (1) - foreign

VD Wedding (1) - foreign

Officer (1) - foreign

RETURNING

Solo (3.5) - 17 showings - 3 3d/14 2d (loses 1/2 screen from last week)

Deadpool (2) - 10 showings - (loses full screen from last week)

Avengers IW (1) - 5 showings (loses 2 showings from last week)

GONE

Everything else

PS - 1/2 screen is still open - there will probably be one more foreign film getting booked...

1st local (Cinemark) is set...and before I get to it...I know we are talking Ocean's 8, and rightfully so, but I'd love to hear more about the foreign film Kaala b/c it's getting double screened at tons of local theaters around me (including this one).  Is this a tentpole type foreign film, b/c it's totally being treated as such around here...also, this theater is still flailing to find more films to fill seats, so lots more new bookings (1/2 of the screens) and chucked old bookings...with that...

NEW

Ocean's 8 (2 - 11 showings)

Kaala (2 - 8 total showings)

Herditary (1 - 5 showings)

Hotel Artemis (1 - 5 showings)

RETURNING

Solo (1.6 - 8 total showings, but in bad news for the movie, it loses its 1pm and 7pm showings AND it keeps 2 10pm or later slots, where it sells nothing...this is almost a full 2 screen drop and all showings are now in the smallest theater seating...this is not doing well here)

Action Point (.4 - 2 showings - it gets the rest of the 2nd Solo screen - fast drop here - it will be gone next week)

Adrift (1)

VD Wedding (1 - this foreign film must have sold well, b/c many get dropped after 1 week of bookings, but this one is still around and even on a full screen)

Deadpool (1)

Avengers Infinity War (1)

Gone

2 other foreign films from last week...

Btw just a heads up but the AMCs in my area put up 4PM preview times for Thursday for O8 so I don't think that's an exclusive to Regal/U.A.

4pm... yeah we've reached the point where calling them previews has been stretched so far it's snapped.

Anyways my actual theater still hasn't put up showtimes for Ocean's 8 yet for Thursday night which is very very very very weird given the tracking and how many theaters it is in. Im guessing showtimes won't be up until tomorrow which is usually when holdovers get their weekend/weekly schedules. But this tells me that I won't be able to use my theater for much of anything since showtimes are up so late.

At the U.A. in my area it's been given 3 showtimes for Thursday (including the 4PM). It's only sold 5 tickets between them. I'm very very bullish for O8 but I'm actually kinda concerned because I was doing a quick scan through other theaters in my area with showtimes up and sales are really weak (and by weak I mean some theaters haven't sold a single ticket for all of Thursday night type weak) but I have no valid comparison for this film so I have no idea if this is normal or not for a film like this and I also have no idea how walk up based this movie is going to be.

*Im just leaving it here for future films/to see how sales pick up over the next 24-48 hours or so

My local U.K. cinemas are putting Deadpool 2 and Avengers down to ONE evening show from tonight onwards for Jurassic World.

But keeping Solo on 8 times. Eek.

Ouch for the first two though. Yikesz
