Again if Panther breaks out and does $300M+, ASMM will do TLBM to BH6 numbers for the same reason.

huh? What is the connection there? Animated Spidey will not do great because when a franchise goes from live action to animation the grosses massively drop

Venom will flop and Animated Spidey will be lucky to get 150m. Dark Phoenix also should be the lowest grossing of the entire X-men franchise

Do we have proof the ANIMATED SPIDER-MAN is getting made? DARK PHOENIX's competition is crazy.

Did you guys notice those Pirates & GOTG holds despite losing a combined 2k screens+ this weekend? Very strong holiday action. -21% each.

No way that's just the holiday. That's some sweet Disney fudge™ right there.

My bad, then. I had the idea that TF3 and TF4 had weak pre-sales.

You never watched it before? Get ready for so bad it is good god awful moments and a different movie from act 1 to act 3.

Nope. I haven't even watched DOTM, and these fuckers are treating Chicago like New York in the MCU  Still waiting for Tucci

If all of most of those movies succeed next year, we could be on track for serious CBM over saturation station.

It already seems very likely the top 2 movies of the summer will be CBM. And SM could very well make it the top 3. Only spaced a month apart too. At this point, Hollywood has no reason to stop churning them out.

My logical side says one or two of those movies must underperform or even flop next year. But I could definitely see all of them making their mark or higher.

Yeah not a coincidence it's the same weekend Cars 3 is released.

They do that often with their May releases but rarely this obviously. There's been the hilarious Prince of Persia thing and Iron Man 3's PTA jumping 35% on the weekend of Monsters University (which wasn't even father's day) but most of the time the holds look more normal. They clearly thought "ah fuck it" and decided to go all-in this year.

I think an African American/Hispanic Spider-Man can potentially be a draw. If Black Panther does big numbers and attract a lot of families, I guarantee you they'll show up. Spider-Man is a favorite hero among kids, and young Latino and Black kids will be delighted to see a Spider-Man that looks like them.

Age of Extinction isn't absolute dog shit the way that Revenge of the Fallen is. The Chicago set piece is fun. Most of its problems come from feeling super rushed.

Revenge of the Fallen is the best of the franchise. AoE is the dullest one and you know I love the shit out of these movies.

I love the first half of Revenge of the Fallen, it's once they reach Egypt I feel like it goes downhill. Thoughts @Ethan Hunt?

Also I think there was not enough Transformers action in the fourth.

I absolutely love the first and third.

To be entirely fair I haven't rewatched 2 in forever because I just remember despising it
