5-day Weekend #s: DM3 99M, BD 29.97M, WW 24.07M, TF5 24.05M, Cars 3 14.2M, House 11.9M

Recommended Posts

354.6 for WONDR after 4+ Tuesday.

4.4 on Wed and Thu combined gives 359.

8.5 next weekend (drop of 46.5% from 15.7) gives 367.5

2.5x the weekend (8.5) more gives 367.5 + 8.5*2.5 = ~389 dom

But next weekend will be deflated due to Spidey so it could recover and do 3x the weekend more,

367.5 + 8.5*3 = ~393 dom

Really feel 390-395 is happening and 395+ cannot be ruled out as after Spidey, WONDR could show solid late legs throughout July, August, Sept.

If it does 396-397, will WB let it go without a minor re-release for 400? I don't think so.

In fact, WONDR could be brought in some theaters just before JL releases to generate hype.

Pretty much all of it.

https://tradingeconomics.com/european-union/gdp-annual-growth-rate

and Europe has a trade surplus, the USA has an enormous deficit.

As you can see, growth in countries in Asia and Latin America is  higher than in Europe, with the exception of Brazil that is not growing because of a political crisis, but if you catch the growth of Asia and Latin America  from 1990 to 2015, you will see that they grew a lot while Europe was stagnant, That gap will be even bigger in the near future according to forecasts.

WB could maybe go for a Labors Day push. Or is that too far into its run?

Harry Potter was huge in Europe as well as in Japan, Australia and pretty much all the big markets. If China were so big at that time as it is today, no doubt that all of the movies would be far above the billion dollar mark.

I still think that the movies could be a bit more successfull in America throught...

Avatar scored $175m in france alone, $162m from germany, $110m spain, $88m from italy.

Titanic made $140m from germany,  and france too, and many more unimaginable huge figures from other european countries.

Guess what CBM movie made more than $40m in france or germany? ANSWER: NONE!!

if it wasn't for europe, Titanic and Avatar could lost their crown long ago!!!

EUROPE STILL MATTERS.

Avatar and Titanic are superhero movies? :WHATanabe:

What if WONDR drops similar to last weekend(s)?! It's not likely but it isn't impossible right?!

I still hope to see it with a total gross of 400M$.

You are proving his point for him.  He said super hero movies don't do all that well in Europe.....not films like the ones you mentioned.

No he said that Europe is on a decline and is important only for things like Harry Potter and Hobbit.

It cant be said enough: Wonder Woman is the type of blockbuster run that makes following box office so much fun.

Agreed.  And we should soak it all in because this is  run that will not be duplicated for a very long time.  This a historic run.  I truly think that 15-20 years from now when the new batch of members are on this site discussing the greatest runs of all time in the modern era, WW will be near the top of the list.  It's not going to get a 4 multiplier but if it does hit 400, it's close to a 3.9.  Absolutely incredible.
