Got back from SH. I liked it, but didn't love it. There was just something off about it that I can't quite put my finger on, but I'm going to go watch it again and see if I can figure it out. Maybe it's bc I just don't really see Spidey fitting in with the Avengers-verse. Michael Keaton was great, if a bit underused and I loved the ending. I wanted more of the 'high school' setting. The Avengers stuff felt out of place. I give it a solid B. Definitely behind GotgV2 and WW, but a head of Logan.

That's true. I got this wrong bigly. Am a bit stunned.

Was thinking it's between SM and Batman as the most popular character.

I feel like going with SM at the moment.

6 movies 15 years, at least half of them not well done. 50m OD is bfd.

Batman also bounced back after B&R but there was some trepidation with BB early one, and then word of mouth spread. Nolan was king.

But Spidey seems to have been tested more.

 

Batman and SM are so different. Once is a grown up, born wealthy, billionaire, serious. SM is young, funny, broke, breezy. Both have a hold on the audience.

There hasn't been a single Spiderman entry that has gross more than $510M OS.

I think the Amazing-Spiderman 2 was closest to it .... so max I see it doing is $600M OS, plus $360DOM .. (This is MAx)

But I still hold that it will do under $900M ....
