Breaking news: Cookie Pictures has found its queen.

ariana_debose_-_getty_-_h_2019_-928x523.

Singer, dancer, stage and film actress Ariana DeBose has signed on to take the mantle of Queen Tamara of Khouga in future The Scavenger Wars films, the studio confirmed in a press release sent out to various news outlets today. DeBose, having featured in Hamilton and the upcoming Steven Spielberg re-imagining of West Side Story, will star as the kind and stubbornly brave royal in future films after actress Letitia Wright was let go from the role earlier this year. This also marks the third singer/actress combo to land a starring role in the massive sci-fi franchise, joining Naomi Scott and Melissa Barrera, the latter set to make her debut in the fourth chapter releasing in Year 9.

Following an extensive search that included numerous candidates, the Tony Award-nominated DeBose quickly became the frontrunner due to her "unique and charming energy," which franchise producer and studio CEO Sebastian Peters really hopes to incorporate into the character as her story arc develops in future films. "DeBose is an actress of many talents, and has continued to advocate for increased visibility of queer people of color in the film industry," Peters said in a statement to the press. "Embodying such an important role in the CAYOM pantheon will be a momentous occasion not just for her but for the community, and we couldn't be happier to have her on board."

Sources to CAYOM Magazine report that DeBose may potentially make her debut as early as the previously mentioned fourth chapter, albeit her first starring role won't be until the fifth film set for release in Year 11. Speaking on the fifth film, Peters said the studio is hard at work securing a "big-name director" but isn't ready to disclose which names are in contention as of yet — he could confirm, however, that the majority of the surviving cast from Part II and Part III, including Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Sasha Lane, David Mazouz, Kenneth Branagh, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Holly Hunter and Hannah John-Kamen have already signed on to return for the fifth film, which is set to kick off the "final trilogy of films" in the saga. Wether the cast signed on for Part IV, including Naomi Scott, Daniel Henney, Robert Pattinson, Melissa Barrera, Geraldine Viswanathan and Clive Owen would make an appearance, Peters nor any representative from the studio would disclose at this time.

DeBose was born in North Carolina and was nominated for a Tony award for her performance in Summer: The Donna Summer Musical. As of 2020, DeBose is represented by Anthony Calamita of AC Management, Ryan LeVine & Kimberly Jaime of Jackoway Austen and CAA.

As Endless Animation aims to shake up its creative content as well as deviate from its traditional style, ahead of the upcoming Endless New Year Event scheduled from January 1st, 2021 to January 3rd, 2021 has decided to debate its new Brain Trust as studio heads Chris McKay (Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive, The Lego Batman Movie) and Meg LeFauve (Medusa, Inside Out) have stepped down as studio heads, instead sharing smaller roles inside the new Brain Trust. The Brain Trust will act similarly to the ones employed at Pixar and WDAS, providing story help for projects and input.

The new Brain Trust is an effort from the studio to include more diversity, quality and creativity as while all of Endless Animation’s film have been financially successful, helping parent studio Endless Entertainment be a powerhouse in the CAYOM world, quality has been a mixed bag, though while positive, note there’s flaws in the traditional way of doing things.

New members of the new Brain Trust include:

  • Matthew A. Cherry (Academy Award winner Hair Love, the upcoming Meeka)
  • Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda 2, Spark: A Hero’s Promise, the upcoming The Valkyries vs The Galaxy)
  • Jorge R. Gutierrez (Emmy Award winner El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, The Book of Life)
  • Genndy Tartakovsky (the Can You Imagine trilogy)
  • Josie Trinidad (Academy Award winning Zootopia, Wreck it Ralph)

In addition to that, Endless Animation as well as the newly renamed sister division Endless Alternative Animation (formerly WhatAToon!), which is planning on making both smaller budgeted indie animation and more experimental larger budgeted PG-13/R rated animation aims to make at least 3 films a year. New projects from both studios will be announced during the Endless New Year Event.

After announcing a stepdown from film releases for the time being, Phoenix Fire Entertainment has returned to release at least one film, either in Y8 and Y9. That film is Far Cry.

The action thriller is loosely based on the video game Far Cry 3 by Ubisoft, directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Dylan Minnette, Diego Luna, Eddie Watson, Simone Missick, Big E, Madeleine Petsch, Wyatt Oleff, Dylan Sprouse, Hank Azaria and Anna Gunn. The movie will center itself on a trip gone wrong to the tropical paradise known as the Rook Islands, when Jason Brody (Minnette), a seemingly normal guy with a dark side, is forced to become a soldier against human trafficking and drug lord Vaas Montenegro (Luna) and his forces, after he captures his family. And in an island where humans are predator and prey, anything goes.

The man known by the alias 'MCKillswitch123' - director of Phoenix Fire Entertainment - describes Far Cry as "the most ambitious undertaking by the studio yet". Verhoeven - who directed other action classics like RoboCop (1987) and Total Recall (1990) - has said that "Far Cry is, at its core, an 80's style action movie with asthetics of the new millenium, but it's also a movie about paranoia, madness, and, more importantly, death and the impact it has on you".

Far Cry is set to release sometime in Y8 or Y9, with a potential release date looking to be March 22nd Y8, with IMAX for at least one week.

Horizon Entertainment has picked up the rights to the viral manga Chainsawman. The studio is on the humt for a director but has Robert Rodriguez producing. The film is aiming for a y9 or y10 release

The studio is in talks with James Gunn (GOTG Series, Slither, The Suicide Squad) to co-write with Rodriguez and direct the feature.  It is aiming for a very hard R rating.
