What Were Some Box Office Predictions You Made in the Past That You Now Look Back and Laugh at?

Baywatch $200M DOM and #5 for summer (called in April)...worst one of mine from the year (only been on this board a year, so not as many bad options to pick from:)...

Honorable mention DM3 over $110M OW (called the weekend before)...although that undeservedly recovered pretty well and got close to my summer DOM call, so I think Baywatch wins the worst call...

Although, probably gonna have my The Star prediction from Jan also bite me in the behind:)...although who knows - The Star could still beat Coco DOM:)...it really could:)...

If The Star outgrosses Coco, Christmas is officially cancelled!

I expected Ultron to be the number one movie of the year worldwide (i.e. over Force Awaken, witch would have fought and maybe won domestic too), it ended up out of the top 3, but I was very new at following box office stuff.

I don't remember the exact number I predicted or anything, if I even did predict a specific number, but I do remember predicting BIG things for THE LONE RANGER. I really did think Disney would just roll on from the PIRATES franchise to another swashbuckler franchise seamlessly.

I actually think Ultron was one of the most over-predicted blockbusters of all time. I remember 1,5B - 2B projections all over the place.

Could be a bit like why Ninjago is not getting close to either (or Ted 2 box office), lot of the first one success was based on seeing a Lego movie on screen, after the first one that gimmick is rendered a bit useless and cannot bring people in.

Also Batman humor did seem to target people with some knowledge of the batman universe, creating a resistance the Lego movie didn't had (everyone know Legos) and didn't share much with the Lego movie to take advantage of it.

I also got to thinking that Batman on his own may not be as big of a movie draw as it seems when you break it down. '89 and TDK both had the Joker, Nolan was a draw for TDKR at that point, BvS had Superman and Wonder Woman, and Forever had Jim Carrey at the peak of his box office draw power. So that leaves Returns, Begins, B&R, and LEGO Batman where it was basically just all on Batman with no additional big draw, and none of those movie's box office takes are all that huge.
