I actually saw a Cybertruck on the road recently.

Those things look like they were designed with the thinking of "wouldn't it be cool if the car from the Dark Knight movies were real?" except they made them lame.

FWIW, I saw one here in Sacto just before the recall and it is just as neck-snappingly fugly in real life as it is on screen or in print.  Always thought this whenever I've saw pictures of it, but it really does look like something from a very bad SciFi dystopian movie made in the 80s, especially as one is driving by it.

I was thinking more 90s-early 2000s video game, especially with that rigid design.

And in more woes for Paramount, the next Mission Impossible movie budget seems to be out of control. Last thing they needed whne they are trying to rebuild confidence to keep their independence.

I'm actually not sure what it would mean to have an improved streaming business. Just shut all of them down and license everything to Netflix? They're the only ones who make money doing this. Sure might be good for a bottom line, but for consumers, I'm not so sure.

Ah never mind TV grim reaper clarified:

Trump Found Guilty of 34 Felonies

 By  152 Comments

Donald Trump was found guilty of falsifying business records in connection with a “hush money” payment made to a porn star in the days before the 2016 election.

Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts.

Sentencing was set for July 11, just days before the Republican convention.

Been bouncing between hotels the last week and Bluey really is the best thing on basic cable TV these days tbh, not hard to see why it dominates Nielsen ratings.

Kiff is no slouch on Disney channel either.

Right! That's why I really want to love them but they're just very badly designed cars in ways unrelated to the aesthetic.

LOCK HIS ASS UP AND THROW AWAY THE KEY!

I have just been reminded by pursuing a thread off-site that I should have gone with "I Fought The Law (And The Law Won)" when I posted my YT link.

SAD!

(I blame absolutely zero sleep)

So he getting locked up, or is he gonna somehow worm his way out of this one too?

Class "E" felony in NY and as a first time offender with no prior criminal record, the Consensus on the Talking Heads seems to be no jail time (each count I believe is 0-4 years with a maximum of 20 years, IIRC. thanks to how various verdicts overlap).

Then again, the Consensus of the Talking Heads was a Hung Jury, so who knows.  Do know the sentencing is up to the judge in this case and we'll find that out in early/mid July.

That's before the inevitable (and well financed) appeals, naturally.

I do think the political implications inevitably have to be considered regarding a sentence. Sucks as it might, reality is he is the repub frontrunner and throwing him in prison would open all kinds of unprecedented cans of worms that I don't think our institutions are equipped to address.

I stopped relying on talking heads because they feel that everything is good for Cheeto Hitler, they keep saying things will be the same as it ever was. I'm going to let the days go by but I don't think this will be like water flowing underground, especially with independent voters. It's a once in a lifetime unprecedented thing.

I had been hoping the judge would actually follow through on all their contempt threats so I could get a fleeting image of Trump in jail. Less confident in it actually happening now.
