Ozymandias
I would say no, because PROM has not been as well received at ST.I think it has more to do with the genre honestly. If Prometheus 2 made more than 800m WW that would be godlike for an R-rated horror film. It would be more impressive than Avatar's run IMO. Plain Old Tele
No... AVATAR's run is just ridiculous. It's on another level from anything except TITANIC.
lab276
Holy shit they all got the shaft... and those are all pretty big markets to, wtf?The Euro. And Japan always gets things late.

yads
LOL You are kidding right?Yeah, by that rationale Matrix Reloaded's $742m in 2003 was a more impressive run than Avatar
lab276
It's not the equivalent of being R-rated everywhere. Here it's M which is more like PG-13 for example.
Ozymandias
LOL You are kidding right?Ok, maybe not entirely more impressive, but 800-900m for R-rated scifi horror would be ridiculous. Avatar was an easy as shit to follow 4 quadrant movie that is accessible to everyone. And I'm not trashing Avatar in anyway here, I defended that movie pretty hard back on BOM when it came out. Plain Old Tele
If AVATAR made "only" $1.5b WW, I could understand people not realizing how impressive it was. But $2.7 freaking billion! It made more overseas than TITANIC total, and TITANIC still curb stomps every other franchise by $500m.
yads
Yeah I thought Avatar was lousy, but its box office performance is beyond criticism.
Ozymandias
So Prometheus still has Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, and China to open in? Did I miss any?
PierceHawthorne
Guys, do you think it will hit at least 250 overseas?! 350 minimum should guarantee a sequel, considering the low budget. I"d be really happy with 400.
A Marvel Fanboy
350M WW will happen.
Moviedweeb
I hope $350m WW guarantees a sequel. I need one for this film.

John Marston
Is this a good total for this point?
Ozymandias
Is this a good total for this point?I think so. When you think about it, half of Europe(Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland) and Asia's biggest markets(Japan, China), haven't even opened yet. If Prometheus does 180m OS before any of those open, i think 400m WW is possible. 360m WW is locked.
