I'm not tripping over the Panther numbers. The number will still be headline stealing and the box office will be huge regardless, but most importantly this is a movie that'll live on. The next generation will cherish this movie like we still cherish Forrest Gump, Jurassic Park, and Sandlot.

Out only a day and this movie has already made a bigger impact than anyone predicted. I can see kids who see this movie today passing it on to their kids in 25 years, like gen X parents did to millennials with Star Wars. And that's what I'm happy about, because not every large grosser leaves a legacy. The the hell still cares about Alice? Panther won't even need tri-monthly airings on FX to stay relevant, it'll ingrained in culture. Box office is the icing.

It's gotten to the point now where if BP finishes below $180M OW it'll be seen by some here as a disappointment LOL.

It's blowing damn near every CBM ever made out of the water.  How is that not anything but a huge fuckin success?

Infinity war opens above 200 million

When EC hinted it could do 170+ over 4-days a couple of weeks back that seemed insane cause it was 20 odd more than DP's 152 4-day. Now it's gonna do that over 3-days. Gonna crush GOTG2's ow. Staggering numbers but previews inflated expectations.

175 FSS will be 7x the previews. SMH did 7.6x last year. SS did 6.5x the year before. This one looks to be splitting them.

First Marvel movie to get an A+ since The Avengers, I believe.

Also apparently only the second superhero film to get an A+ cinemascore in general
