Believe it my friend.

Its his American accent. The accent is garbage and you’re literally watching him try to fix the accent with each line.

Whats super annoying about it though is the fact that in the film a character explicitly states Ahmed’s character was “born to British parents”. They could’ve just let him talk normally and get a better performance.

Anybody who thinks that directors are always right and the studios are always wrong and should have no say in their 200mil investment should set down and watch Netflix Bright. Ayer claims that he had far more freedom on that than Suicide Squad  and yet it's the same shitty movie. It proved that WB were right to get rid of Ayer.

How funny that people who write about movies have built for decades this narrative that a studio suit or executive is the de facto an enemy of the movie, t

That more something you hear fanbase and casual viewer say than actual serious people that write about movies.  Artist need a big set of restriction (like a release date and many others) or it does nothing is almost a consensus.

If there was any doubt, Netflix attempts show how much studio are good at doing movies.

Weird, his accent in Nightcrawler/Night Of never felt out of place

I’m pretty sure they only earned less than $20m on Skyfall.

According to the leaked accounting

Sony profit on:

2005 Sony acquire MGM: https://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/IR/news/2005/20050421.html

2006 Casino Royale: 160 millions

As of March 31, 2007, Sony no longer had any book basis in MGM  (https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/313838/000114554908001104/k01608e20vf.htm)

2008: Quantum of Solace: 22.6m

2012: Skyfall: 55.1m

2015: Spectre: expecting around 30m

Obviously it was nice for them to have Sony TV, Sony Phone, pay money in little part to Sony movie for the product placement and so on, but movie division profit wise in the last 10 year's, they made a bit more than 10m a year with that franchise.

They weren’t making money on Bond to begin with

Still, there is a lot of Prestige involved with being the Studio that has 007. Please not the bidding and fighting that went on when BOnd was on the market a few months ago.

I get tired of people who automatically side with the director in every case. They are idiots, franlly. I remember early on in 2015 Fantastic FOur debacle one fool here said he sided with "Team Trank" for no other reason then Trank was standing up to "THE MAN".

Fact is, a huge problem with a lot of film schools is they don't prepare students for the realities of the film business. They send them out thinking they are Orson Welles making Citizen Kane, and then reality hits.A lot of the professors at the film schools seem unaware that the film business is a business; film studios exist to make a profit,if they don't they don't last long.

I read some of the postivie reviews, and they are of the "So Bad Its Good" variety. I don't think that is what Sony intended, or what Venom fans wanted.

ANd the RT rating has dropped to 28%. This is not getting close to 40%.

Ahmed didn't have any problem with American accent in Jason Bourne or Nightcrawler. Also he's a great actor. I can't to believe and I don't want to believe you...

Watch Venom, see for yourself. I tell no lies.

Frankly, Margot Robbie's Harley was just about the only thing people liked about that movie. DC was right in keeping her as Harley, but pretty much dumping everything else in the film.

And God I hated Leto's Joker. The Joker is such a great character it's hard to screw him up, but Leto and Ayer  found a way. The CLown Prince of Crime can wotk with a variety of approaches (ones as different as Ceaser Romero's over the top campy but funny performance to Heath Ledger's truly scary performance) but whatever the hell Leto was trying to do he failed miserably...(though the designers who thought up the Joker's look for the movie also deserve a good share of the blame).

I think many fans of properties with bad adaptations (based on general consensus) are more than willing to overlook whatever flaws others point out. There are various examples of this in recent years. I know I did the same for the Twilight movies and while I wouldn’t call them great movies, I like them. Fans in general (outside of Star Wars maybe) are more forgiving and I see that being the case here.

Producers yes, bean counters no. You'll never convince me that it's a good idea for bean counter executives and shareholders to have a say...but actual producers are integral to the process.

I am just the opposite, I am pretty tough when it comes to something I am really fond of.

For instance, I hate with a passion what Geoffery Johns is doing  with the Watchmen in "Doomsday Clock". I read 3 issues, won't read anymore.

God, you actually expect the people who put up the money and took the finisncial risks not to have a say ?

Don't know where you are living with that, but it's not reality.
