Guys I am not kidding here. There are two posters in here who are talking ridiculous crap. Don't let two of them bring the rest of you down. Anyone who was not temporarily insane lnowse that a $135 million opening weekend is fantastic. I don't need to go into any more detail than that. Just ignore the one or two guys here who don't really know what they're talking about.

I'm pleasantly surprised with how the Deadpool 2 numbers are shaping up. My 9:00 preview last night - the only preview screening that ran here - didn't sell out (though I'd still guess it filled about 85-90% of the auditorium) and they still haven't sold out anything tonight outside of the pub cinema that sells out everything that makes over $20 million for the weekend.

As huge as the first movie was, it was such a unique novelty that there was always a risk of a noticeable drop. $135 million would be really good.

Last comment before I have to go back to work is this is an R-rated movie. The opening weekend numbers for Deadpool and Deadpool part 2 are astronomical when you compare it to most other R-rated movies in fact all other R-rated movies that don't have a killer clown in it.

At the same time, it's also a little obnoxious any time someone expresses even the slightest disappointment at numbers and someone has to go "actually these are really good so stop it."

These numbers are really good. Stop it.

This fucker is about to pull an OW of 130-140M and potentially become the biggest OW of all time for FOX so yeah everyone must be crying around those parts. Maybe we need to calm our tits a bit and wait for more updates.

Yes it is. I don’t care about Deadpool , one way or the other , but this mob mentality against anyone expressing disappointment over the numbers for any movie is ridiculous. Just state your own opinion about the numbers and move on....

Remember, GOTG is still the highest grossing movie ever to have its direct sequel outgross it. Superhero or otherwise. Even Spider-Man 2, widely considered to be one of the best superhero movies ever, decreased from SM1.

That title actually belongs to The Hunger Games and Catching Fire (which increased from an already impressive $408 million to $425 million).

Could you not count Age of Ultron to Infinity War?
