What Men Want and Hellboy (Miss Bala too for that matter) vacating made this month so barren. At least Glass is going to be massive to make up for the small grossers. Vice and The Favourite should be able to take advantage of this empty month, especially once they get a bunch of Oscar nominations.

They just moved Escape Room to the January 4 weekend, but yeah.

 

It's still confusing to me no studio wants to take advantage of the barren January line-up and keep all of their stuff in December. Move some combination of Mortal Engines, Holmes & Watson, and Second Act there, and both months benefit.
