Goffe
The 200m reported budget makes me giggle
AniNate
Regardless, I'm sure it was still in Pixar's best interests to finish this up
Jonwo
I wouldn't be surprised if the budget is nearer what Tangled cost.
MovieMan89
I know it's far from getting panned on RT, but I have no idea how it is so far below at least a 7.5 average rating. That is just plain wrong. If WDAS made it I bet it would have Tangled/BH6/Frozen level reviews. But critics always expect Pixar to deliver something more "adult" which isn't really fair. AniNate
^ to anyone who has seen it, how does it compare to Big Hero 6? It's a very different film, much more experimental in tone. I love them both for different reasons
Avatree
If I love this movie then Disney has released FIVE animated films this year which I love. That's crazy.

Avatree
I think I'll go watch this and Black Mass tomorrow. Couldn't decide between tomorrow or Monday but tomorrow it is. Hopefully 12:30 Friday lunchtime there won't be *too* many screaming kids.
AniNate
I would suggest trying to see this with as old/minimal an audience as possible. I imagine screaming kids would really detract from the experience

I imagine screaming kids would really detract from the experience Yeah but it's expected at a family-oriented movie. I don't mind it too much when kids are making noise, and if they're too loud then hopefully parents will take them out (alternatively I notify a staff member and they deal with it). Earliest showtime possible = smallest audience as possible, at least on a week day like Friday. Also, old people can be really rubbish moviegoers in my experience. They talk and they make strange noises throughout the film.
AniNate
Not too old, I guess. At my 9:35 showing there were only teenagers/YAs

I just got out of a showing and we had a family with four kids and a very much newborn baby sit right next to us, so we got up and moved, and again, got stuck this time by a couple with fucking twins. Thank god I am a fucking queer. I can't do that whole children shit, and I am glad I will never be the person subjecting people to my screaming sacks of shit... Anyway, now that I have that off my chest, the movie was good, what I could hear over all the fucking children. Some very pixar like moments, and some that felt a little awkward to be honest. The movie was a tad bit too long, and I can understand where people say the story was lacking, but the visuals are everyting they have been made out to be, and it really was a mostly enjoyable film. BH6 is actually a pretty good comparison to it. Both have simple stories of the sweet and heart tugging nature, with two likable leads that create a well developed bond throughout the film. I'd say Arlo>Hiro, Baymax>Spot. I prefer TGD however, largely due to the world of the film and that stunning animation. TGD is more graceful in its narrative techniques too, whereas BH6 was a little too cliche in its execution I thought.
forg
The story is really simple, nothing really extraordinary but the visuals though so amazing, the underwater scenes, wow! I like Arlo and Spot. Also got me teary eyed
