There's no way this doesn't take inspiration from The Big Lebowski. This seems like the kind of role that Matthew McConaughey would excel in. I'll keep an eye on this during the SXSW buzz.

Can this & Serenity kick off a new McConaissance?

A new one? We never left the McConnaissance. Did you not see white boy Rick! Or his incredible voice role in SING

Also, Neon is very good at cutting trailers, especially for a new company. Probably the best I can think of right now outside of WB's marketing team?

It looks so pretty and interesting but that's the whole deal with Korine. His images make good trailers full of amazing colors and intriguing premises and then you watch the movie and all the didactic, faux-edgy bullshit that come with it. Of all the shock auteurs he's my least favorite by a wide margin.

But I hope this works at least for McConaughey, he really needs a career boost and looks like he 'll be great in it.

This film is better off going wide anyway. It's not the type of film that would typically be supported by a limited opening, in my opinion. And the month of March has been dry as it is. Neon knows they're on a roll, that there deal with Hulu is a lifeline, that the film's trailer is extremely well made, and that we've just now seen Focus Features' Greta make over $10M in this dry of a time-frame. A film with as big of stars as Matthew McConaughey should be given a chance to be seen, anyway.

Who's willing to believe this can gross more than Serenity's total? I sure am.
